Dick Vitale gives us a mention recently. Every little bit of press helps. link

I agree with Vitale on surprise teams being a big part od the NCAA Tournament, and disagree with smug people like Mike Missanelli who want "the best 64+ teams" and want to totally ignore all but the top conferences. He's said things like "They'll be one and done anyway. I want the best teams in there."

Ironically, Mikey Mush was all about La Salle when we made our run. He's a hypocrite in the worst way sometimes. He picked us over Ole Miss, and possibly Wichita St. When it comes to college basketball, he has NO idea what he's talking about. Such a boner.

Love the mention of La Salle getting to the elite 8 last year. Wish that were accurate. Noticed that we have alot of bench players that are flying WAY under the radar and no pundits are mentioning the new blood on the team. It's going to be a VERY different team then last year and hopefully everyone will game plan for last year's team which will allow G to exploit mismatches with size. I am expecting alot of small 4 guard plays in the first halves with tons of perimeter shooting and then slowing the game down and going a little bigger with intense perimeter defense to shutdown the 3 force them to drive and focus on turning over the ball. It's a nice option to have that we really didn't have last year. As far as expectations, I am too experienced to let those get too high even though things look good for another tournament invite. I'll put a prediction out there though. The Explorers will win @ Nova in the last seconds of regulation, will win @ penn by double digits and will play OT against Temple on ESPN at the Palestra. This time we will celebrate taking take the big 5 title alone for the first time since 89-90' by beating ST joe's @ Gola by 5 pts on ESPNU. bold? by the way, could playing St. Joes twice have an impact on the Big 5 title if my prediction some how doesn't pan out?

The game at Gola does not count for the Big 5; only the game at St. Joe's. I expect to win that one as well.

I'll second that. We go two for two against the Hawks, one being a real grudge match.

I know some dont view it as a big deal but winning the Big 5 by going 4-0 would BE HUGE!!!! My expectations for this season are to be ranked at some point even if we don't stay ranked , win the Big 5 get back to the dance and return to the sweet 16. All very achievable.
