Between Stony Brook @ 11, St. Joe's game 1 @ 11, and Temple at Noon (with Game Day starting at 10), it's gonna really test La Salle fans' morning drinking abilities. As a friend of mine used to wear on a shirt: "You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning." I am not talking about a Wednesday night battle with St. Bonaventure but those top games will be hard to come by for tickets if we are pushing for another bid.

The "Never Stop Exploring" La Salle commercial will be getting a lot of air time this season...

Ticket office said you can leave seats at will call that day if you are a season ticket holder for any person as long as they have their ID. He said you would just have to give him time to reprint the tix. I was considering buying season tickets if I knew I could get rid off half of them. Wouldnt be a bad Idea to have a tickets available thread where season ticket holders could list games available and people could pay through Paypal. Wondering if La Salle tix will actually be listed on Stubhub?!

Seems to me that Hoopsfan and coqui need to meet and get 2 season tickets together.

I count 4 A-10 games that are not going to be on any kind of national TV. I would think some of these would be picked up by Comcast. In order for Comcast to pick up those games, La Salle would have to chip in to produce the broadcast. I'll be shocked if that happens since the team will already be on TV more than any other season in La Salle history. It will be hard enough filling Gola for Duquesne and St Bona so paying to televise them probably doesn't make sense unless the team is having such a phenomenal season that most home games are selling out. In addition to the 14 games already being televised, there should be a good chance of getting another six or seven games on TV. The Stony Brook game will probably be on either the MSG or Yes Network so Comcast could pick up the feed for that. If the team gets by Morgan State in the first round of the Paradise Jam, the semifinals, the final, and the consolation game will all be on CBS College Sports. The Villanova game should be on Fox Sports 1, and there's probably a very good chance the Penn State game is on the Big 10 Network. Also would not be surprised if someone televises the Miami game and Penn may pay TCN to televise our game with them. It's just amazing how much the Sweet 16 run has done for the program.

Looked up what our TV (Regional/National) record was over the last two seasons: 11-12. Thought it was better, so there's that. Some real clunkers (Hello, Robert Morris) in that bunch, but some obvious gems on the biggest of stages. Overall, great news for the university, the program, and glad to see the players and staff rewarded.

I think you mean 12/15. Still great to know, although I continue to hate that that game is scheduled on Sunday afternoons during football season every year.

Fox Sports 1 is technically national right? Yes. This replaced the Speed channel and is on virtually all major basic cable packages nationwide. From a TV coverage standpoint, the BE baskeball schools signing on with Fox was the best thing that ever happened to La Salle. We're getting games on ESPN that the BE used to get.

I think the BE thought that Fox Sports 1 was going to be the next ESPN and that they would be instrumental in revolutionizing the way college sports, basketball in particular, would be viewed, but let's face it, ESPN is never going to be overtaken. It's such a huge part of pop culture now that it won't be taken down. I think it was a huge mistake on their end to leave their traditional home and the partner that basically made them what they once were.
Good for us to be on ESPN more....now we need to land a regular season game on CBS!

Every major network having it's own dedicated sports network is certainly vacuous, and does no one favors on their monthly cable bill, but the more I think about it, I think it benefits no one more than Atlantic 10 basketball fans. Think back just a few years. Even the top 3 or 4 A-10 teams were looking at what, 2 or 3 games a year on ESPN/ESPN2? Maybe a Xavier-Dayton, or Temple- Xavier, on ESPN2 at Noon on Saturday? And for us, it was even worse, playing in a city with 4 pro sports teams and 5 other D-1 colleges, meaning local broadcasts would be scant.
Now, with ESPN/ESPN2 (ABC), CBS Sports, NBC Sports, and Fox Sports 1, we have a situation this year where 3/4's of our A-10 games are on some kind of national network. La Salle- GW on a Thursday night in January is on national television.
We truly did get a break with all the TV networks being created, and needing content. And we sure picked the right year to have our best year in decades.

as far as true national exposure, there was the game against kansas in december a few years back, vs. villanova was on CBS on a saturday like 4 years ago. this tv schedule is as surprising and took as many things falling into place as our tournament run did. hoping we can play as exciting as last year and have front court options while playing in front of a large audience. this is shaping up to be a truly memorable season!

A couple of thoughts on the schedule.
1. Really rough travel schedule to play at St. Bona. for a 9pm game and then bus it home (get in 5-6am Thursday) and then get ready for Saturday 12 noon game with VCU. 2. Play at SLU on Wednesday night ( take early AM flight on Thursday) and play Saturday at Richmond. I would look into charter either to Philly or Richmond. Not as bad as Bonnie/VCU but leaves little prep time for both situations. 3. No game after Dec. 22 til Jan. 4. Almost 2 weeks. Would have been good time for a trip somewhere against a decent opponent (not a shot at G).

Kinda glad we aren't wasting a home game in that two week period around Christmas/New Years, but that big road game would have been nice.

Most difficult stretch I believe to be 2/5 at MASS then back home against SLU 2/8. Get a break and play SJU at home 2/15, travel to Dayton 2/19, then travel to Richmond 2/22. February won't be an easy month by any means. That too me is the most difficult stretch by far, luckily they get a little break after they play SLU.

Two Thoughts: 1. We finally get our $ worth with all the cable channels we pay for! 2. We are no longer forced to be "closet" basketball fans rooting for La Salle from our homes... we can actually go to our local bar and tell them to turn off the Duke or NC game and put on La Salle!

They aren't wrong, but I think they are misinformed. For example, La Salle did schedule Miami last year.
I have a writeup on the non-conf coming in the next day or two.

The only problem I've had with the schedule is the lack of a single really bigtime game...a chance for a top 25 RPI win. It's a solid schedule filled with teams who will win 20+ games, so we'll have a solid RPI ourselves, but lack of marquee games is a bit concerning.

Now that we are on the radar nice to see someone else calling out the OOC. After last year, at least one marquee match up was called for.

Playing the marquee teams is a two way street. G is not going to play them on their court 2 out of 3. He did Miami because of Sam.

Cant disagree with what ESPN said about our OOS, but I think some of their other rankings are skewed. Could slap this article on Bleacher Report and it'd fit in great - mushy opinion with little research... Because we scheduled Miami a season late and all, bozos.

It's a solid schedule filled with teams who will win 20+ games, so we'll have a solid RPI ourselves, but lack of marquee games is a bit concerning. G was already quoted in an article that he tried to land a couple "marquee" opponents but none of them would agree to play, so he did the next best thing and filled the schedule with good teams who will win a lot of games. People ripped the schedule last year but it was good enough to put La Salle in the at-large discussion, which is what this schedule will do as long as they win the games they're supposed to. It really amazes me how clueless some of the sports media is on this subject. It's pretty obvious the guy who wrote this doesn't understand the RPI and is only looking at how many BCS teams are on the schedule. He has no idea how good Manhattan and Stony Brook will be. They will have solid RPI's and both should easily surpass 20 wins. There's a good chance that Quinnipiac and Wagner will do the same. Assuming we get past Morgan State, we'll probably play Providence, who should be very tough this year, and then either Maryland or Northern Iowa. IMO, the only team on the schedule that looks to be a high 200+ RPI team or worse is Siena. There are only 5 teams on the schedule who had 200+ RPI's last year (Morgan St - 237; Penn - 280; Siena - 295). Morgan St and Penn should be much better this year and improve their RPI's significantly. If the schedule plays out like it should, La Salle won't have to play the other two (Loyola Marymount - 209; Marist - 263). A number of the other A10 teams whose schedules he rated as tougher have more low RPI teams on their schedules than La Salle does. How St Joe's got an 8 is beyond me. The only chance their OOC schedule would be stronger than La Salle's is if they beat LSU in the first round of the Old Spice Classic, which would get them Memphis in the next round, and most likely Butler or Oklahoma State in the third round. If they lose to LSU, they'll get Siena and then either Washington State or Purdue. Both are expected to be mediocre this year.

I agree with kjmac12. ESPN released a bunch of these non-conference breakdowns today and I'm assuming based on the detail given, they just paint with a broad brush for each team. If it isn't loaded with Ohio State/Duke it's going to get dinged even if its quality without the name recognition

Glad someone else pointed out St Joes getting that 8. I know LSU will be improved compared to the last few ugly years, but ESPN has them as the featured OOS matchup for a handful of A10 teams. Because they're being circled by the ESPN pundits for many of our conference rivals, what's the real scoop on LSU?
