Anyone hear anything about the performance of some of our new faces on the squad thus far? I know the season hasn't officially started but I'm pretty sure the team has a few practices going on a week now, correct?
Specifically and in no particular order, Amar Stukes, Jordan Price, Cleon Roberts, Khalid Lewis and Jermaine Davis
the first three obviously won't see the floor this season, but Davis and Lewis will be interesting to see.
Funny to think that in some ways we already know the incoming corps for 2014/15 already with the first three guys listed there and then hopefully also add Tony Washington as well. Not saying the group of Price, Roberts, Stukes, Lewis will be as good as Duren, Garland, Galloway, Mills but good to know we have those guys on the roster and I'm interested to see if anyone has heard how they've looked.

Only thing I heard was that Khalid Lewis is a MUCH improved offensive player and a royal pain to his offensive opponent.

Absolutely. I know we talk about the 2014 recruiting class. But for the most part we might as well forget it as we already 4 talented players (don't forget T. Washington) coming in with a year in the system meaning they should hit the ground running. Aka no freshman woes towards the end of the season. The 2015 class should be the focus and they should be focused on 1 guard and a lot of low post guys.

Only thing I heard was that Khalid Lewis is a MUCH improved offensive player and a royal pain to his offensive opponent. Yeah, I talked to someone in the Hayman Center. They said Lewis has really stepped his offensive game and in particular his perimeter shooting. This should be the classic example of the benefit of having someone sitting out for a year. They get 24/7 training to make themselves a better player (i.e. IDing the weaknesses and only working on that). Could you imagine just focusing on training on a certain skill set for a year, you would improve at it. Heck with one golf lesson a week I went from a 10 handicap to a scratch golfer after about a year. I could not imagine what would happen if I was able to do it every day for 4 days per week for a year.

Didn't someone earlier say that Neon Cleon was essentially Ramon Galloway: The Sequel?

Heck with one golf lesson a week I went from a 10 handicap to a scratch golfer after about a year. Teach me your ways. Honestly getting a lesson per week for a year was some of the amazing stuff I have ever seen. But if you think it truly makes sense... When we go to a driving range, we have no idea what to work on or how to get better. We can't even see ourselves swing. Bad training equals bad muscle memory. Bad muscle memory equals bad golf swing. It is expensive, no doubt, but being committed to lessons has done amazing things for golf and has affected my work also. I am now apart of the company's golf scramble team with the CEO, Chairman and CFO of a fairly large banking firm aka networking at it's finest.

Didn't someone earlier say that Neon Cleon was essentially Ramon Galloway: The Sequel? A lot of big name schools were looking at him, and he was viewed as one of the better scorers of the 2012 class. Similar numbers to Ramon in his first year also, but one played in the SEC and one didn't. And I'll justify all that golf by "networking"... Wise.

Didn't someone earlier say that Neon Cleon was essentially Ramon Galloway: The Sequel? Their recruiting profiles were eerily similar with the only difference being that Roberts was "higher ranked". I have been told that Roberts game will benefit by the "openness" that La Salle's offense provides as opposed to the structure of GSU. This benefit also helped Galloway take the next step forward in his development.

Sorry but to compare Roberts to Galloway is unfair. Ramon has the "IT" factor. You cannot teach it. Either you have it or you don't. Players like Ramon Galloway do not grow on trees.
If Roberts is like Ramon we have 2 very special players in a short span which is highly unusual.

Didn't want to start a new thread, so I figured I toss these here. Fraschilla with some love for Jerrell/Steve/Amar on his twitter account late Thursday - (note I put their names where he had their twitter handles. Wasn't sure the policy on sharing those type things.)
Fran Fraschilla ?@franfraschilla 22m Last season was no fluke for LaSalle. I'm expecting (Jerrell Wright) and (Steve Zack) to be monsters next 2 years. Heard both working like maniacs!
Fran Fraschilla ?@franfraschilla 14m My LaSalle insider raved about him, too! RT @whizwitsports: @franfraschilla Don't forget freshman stud (Amar Stukes)!

Good info. As an FYI, twitter is a public thing, so you can feel free to share the player's handles, as long as it's common knowledge, which they all are. The athletic department routinely tweets out their handles.

FWIW, the players who have Twitter will usually respond back if you write to them. And the disparity in followers from Ty Garland to everyone else (at last check) was really funny.
Taylor Dunn was catching up since one of his songs blew up a bit this summer. He and Ramon are both burgeoning rappers. I'm not much of a rap fan anymore but they're actually pretty decent. Taylor's producer's Twitter name is one of the funniest going -- Filth Spector.
It's also funny to see them Tweet about class during class. It's a new world. And a few guys on the team are total nerds (Dunn and Sammy) because they're complaining about advanced bio labs, which are classes that I would never, ever, ever take under any circumstances.
And former walk-on/still-close-to-the-team Mike Sheehan is one of THE BEST guys. Super funny.

Jon Rothstein tweeted that an under the radar transfer is Khalid Lewis, great defensively and he will be the first person off the bench.
Fran Fraschilla tweeted about Steve Zack that in two years could be drafted, he has some high hopes for Zack and so do I. If Zack turns out to have a significant improvement and is as good as Fran thinks this team will be unbelievably good.
