per Temple Owls website
"In addition to this year's La Salle-Temple game being played at The Palestra, both schools agreed that the 2014-15 edition will also be played at The Palestra. La Salle will be the home team this season with Temple hosting in 2014-15. The schools agreed to bring the game to The Palestra for two straight seasons for the opportunity to bring ESPN GameDay to Philadelphia.
Tickets for the game will be split evenly between the two schools and the student section behind the ESPN GameDay set will also be divided equally."

Otherwise, I'd guess they'd have had him on the call, at least. Legs mostly does NBA coverage, but hopefully they'd bring him into the fold for this. I'm sure he played Digger's teams at the Palestra once or twice in his career...hopefully they've got some of that footage in the library Lionel broke Michael Brooks' school scoring record against Digger at the Civic Center

This has the makings of an incredibly special season. I mean, LAST year was incredibly special.
Man, imagine if we're ranked going into this game? I can't even imagine. I thought La Salle/St. Joe's last year was as great an atmosphere as imaginable. The old dudes holding up a La Salle flag at the end of the game was so amazing. I think we could have like 15 of those.

Minister of Propaganda Joseph Cabrey usually chimes in with a backhanded compliment about La Salle now and again. Cabrey is a snake. I forget all the specifics, but he pulled the most underhanded thing I've ever seen online. Since he was a moderator, he got the IP address of a Temple poster he didn't like, tracked it back to his employer, and emailed the guy's boss and tried to get him fired. After it happened, he denied it up and down but it fits his M.O. This story is very well documented and frankly very sad.

Did you see the one recently where he was trying to raise money for Tyrone Barley's defense (he robbed 3 woman at gunpoint)? When other posters said they felt bad for the crime victims and not Barley, Cabrey claimed to have been shot before (and also to have shot someone in self defense), but never elaborated on these claims when asked. Total weirdo.

They're saying they could get the game this year @ the Palestra, so they agreed to do a home and home the next 2 years.

Just read on the philly.com that Penn plays SJU at the Palestra that day. They should really try to push this thing as a Big 5 double-header, but I don't know if they will.

I gotta be honest, I don't think that makes any sense. That building is going to sell out between Temple and La Salle fans. Let Penn and St. Joe's worry about selling their own tickets.
I'd like to see double-headers again, but not in this case.

Gotta agree with this. I was a little disappointed in some of the stuff I've seen from La Salle fans on other boards. I agree and I disagree with you guys. As far as the A10 board goes, other than this new poster A10LaSalle55, who has taken over for Explorer Steve in alienating the other A10 posters, I think the rest of the La Salle people there are pretty reasonable. As far as the St Joe's board goes, I don't think either of you have been posting long enough to know the full history there. I was banned from that board a couple years ago and the moderators there have blocked the IP addresses of both my work and home computers. For a few months after I was banned, I couldn't even read that board but I finally got access to read it when they did a board upgrade. After the completely unfair way they (in particular their board ringleader Cabrey) treated me on that board in addition to the steady stream of St Joe's posters who used to regularly troll the previous La Salle boards until the last couple of years, I have no problem with La Salle posters going on there and giving them a dose of their own medicine. Those St Joe's posters have short memories. There are some fair and reasonable posters there, but overall, that board has one of the most mean-spirited and arrogant collection of fans I've come across online, second only to Xavier. When things were going well for them, a number of them made it a point to come to the La Salle board daily and rip anything and everything about La Salle, as well as do it on their own board. Well, karma is a bitch, and if a handful of La Salle posters want to take exception to some of the garbage that is posted there, I say go for it. It's not like anyone is going there on the attack. The few posts I've seen there from La Salle people are mainly just a reaction to the typical anti-La Salle propaganda that some of them love to post. Agree with kjmac. When their posters go over the top in their comments about our school and team I'll post from time to time, but not regularly. Overall they are a pretty arrogant board. But more importantly, what great recognition getting to play in the ESPN Tip-Off marathon and on ESPN College Gameday. We need two wins in those games, no excuses.

That game is on Saturday night so that won't be happening. Sorry, I'm selfish. No way I'd want to share the spotlight with St Joe's (PA).

I can imagine it now. "La Salle /Temple AD's Agree No Rollouts with National Broadcast Present." Rollouts have had schools and venue staff on edge alot in the last few years, and I could see them folding from ESPN pressure. They tried for St Joes-Temple last year.
But hey, I'm an idiot. We just landed a College Gameday appearance!

Unbelievable great exposure for La Salle. This train we are on right now is the best ride of my life. Loving every second of it. Look at the list of other schools being presented in this program. Louisville UConn Gonzaga Memphis Michigan Michigan State Florida Kentucky UCLA Duke UNC and we're on there. That's 11 of the most recognizable college basketball programs in the history of the NCAA and La Salle will be featured as well. This is absolutely TREMENDOUS. I hope the school is beginning preparations today for this exposure. Nothing is bigger than the NCAA tournament in terms of exposure for a school like ours, but this is pretty huge. We will be featured all afternoon on ESPN's coverage. Best part is there is no NFL played on that day as the AFC/NFC champ games are on Sunday and there will be no college football left. This is sort of the unofficial start to the college hoops coverage season. I hope we're really, really good this year and if by some miracle we are in the Top 25, this could be the biggest local La Salle game we've seen in 25 years.

ESPN wouldn't like that.

Anyone have any idea when individual games go on sale. I wish I could do season tix but I know I cant make half of them and I want to get tix to certain games.

Tried quoting the earlier post about it being 60+ years since we won the title, but it's not showing up correctly.
Anyways, it's only 59 right now, and riding the wave of good feelings, maybe we'll end the drought at 60! :-)
