Twitter is aflame with a rumor that Marshall got kicked out at Ole Miss. The last moment of his college basketball career will likely be him flipping off fans after the Southwest Philly Floater.

One of the great things about the tourney is sending that wad home crying and flipping people off. He wouldn't be allowed anywhere near our campus to start with. Unnamed source in the article says his career at Ole Miss is in "serious jeopardy." Geez -- multiple drug test failures, counterfeiting, general terrible behavior, etc.
He's not even all that good, either.

Yea karma definitely wins this round. His nickname should have been "deadspin" because he was on that site every other day it seemed with pictures out at a party, giving our crowd the finger, taunting I think the Clemson crowd. The mugshot isn't too far off I'd assume

I never got the obsession with him, and why he got so many "get out jail free" cards, pun intended. Everyone's right, he would get his points but only after a sky-high shot total.

Just because I can't take my eyes off a good train wreck. And nobody messes with my girl, Erin.

That might be the lamest threat ever transmitted via twitter. "I'll mock you good, woman!"
After hitting send: "I wonder what mock means."
Oh and just because: Erin Andrews' looks have always been vastly overrated.

Whether or not he gets it, and I imagine its the latter, you get the feeling basketball is this kid's only chance. Probably overseas or something, but if he can't atleast get out of college and into a contract, he's pretty screwed.

You can pretty much predict how this tragi-comedy will play out.

Chris Herren's autobiography is excellent as well. There's also a book called "Fall River Dreams" that focuses around him in high school. It's one of the best sports books ever written (a touch below "Friday Night Lights" in the sports-as-life-in-small-town genre) and really gives a lot of context as to how Herren ended up the way he did. Living in a spotlight and bubble since birth isn't an easy thing.

The "nugget of marijuana and trace level of cocaine so low we won't prosecute" item sounds more like "captain at police station realized who this was and bargained his freedom for football tickets" but they couldn't quite keep it quiet.

He was not arrested.n it will be interesting to see how the University plays this. A clue is the coach talked about leadership rather than breaking of rules.

He'll be back. It's a SEC school. He's the best player -- or at least the leading scorer -- on a team that just made the NCAA tournament and helps Ole Miss basketball get a lot of recognition. Andy Kennedy also owes him a debt of gratitude because Marshall's hot SEC tournament saved him his job and helped him book a new contract extension.
If they were serious about punishing him he'd be off the team or at least in a very public rehab (like what Fresno did w/ Herren). Instead, it's a press release they put out ahead of his arrest (or however you want to frame it) was put out in public.

"The source also said Henderson can return to the team in good standing 'if' he meets certain conditions."
The spineless SEC. No shock here, but the tactically "leaked" source just set up his "possibility" of a return. See ya in October, Marshall.

Isn't he on a probation or something along those lines stemming from the time he was arrested for printing fake money to buy large amounts of drugs?
He's lucky the Ole Miss athletic department has a positive relationship with the Oxford, MS police department.
Another interesting point: They had dogs sniffing his car. I don't think having police dogs sniffing out a car is the usual protocol for pulling someone over for speeding and a smell of pot in a car.

Oh yeah, this also happened in May. The suspension came in July.
What a great program!
