To call BE games with Gus Johnson. I will miss the Bilas, Raf, McDonough trio.

I wonder if Comcast will carry Fox Sports? I have FiOS and I'm pretty sure they are going to carry it.

Whoa, really? Is Gus like McCarver or Emrick where the better you follow the sport, the more you don't like him? I had no idea.

I've got to imagine Fox Sports 1 & 2 will probably be announced as Tier I cable channels shortly.

That's awesome; they're my two favorite announcers. I can't believe anyone doesn't like Gus Johnson.

Either my sarcasm detector is broken or I'm not understanding the Gus Johnson love at all. He is brutal!

Gus was born to call NCAA games. No idea how he left CBS. It's perfect for him.
Gus and Raff together is probably the best pairing in sports broadcasting right now. I'm not being sarcastic.
Gus and Raff bring so much joy and energy to the games. I think college basketball might be the most "fun" sport we have in the US. The players show the most joy. It has the best fan atmosphere. Gus and Raff both get and reflect that more than anyone else.
Both are also admired in the business for how much work they put in. Raff's a clown but he knows his stuff. He breaks down plays and gets into the X's and O's stuff as good as anyone else. And Johnson's probably more prepared with the play-by-play stuff than anyone else in the business.
I like McDonugh a lot -- he has a really sneaky dry wit. Jay Bilas is a total drone sourpuss.
Sign me up for Fox.

Gus is tremendous in exciting moments, but brutal in all other ways. Does no preparation, doesn't understand the game, and it shows.

Wow. We could not disagree more. Johnson is a shouter and nothing more, no matter what's going on at any time in the game.
Give me a pro's pro like Marv Albert any day of the week. Prepared, subdued and lets the game speak for itself (all traits that have relegated him to the B team on cbs, which says a lot more about the networks than it does him).
Hearing him announce back to back La Salle tournament games only made the experience even greater for me, as a kid who grew up listening to him announce NY Rangers games on the radio. I always associate him with bigtime events since he was the voice of the NBA on NBC in its heyday.
