I can't blame either team for not wanting to play 1 game @ The Palestra, and 1 at the other team's gym. I hope they can be pragmatic and agree to play once at the Palestra. Or maybe bring back the old-school Palestra doubleheader, but make it a baseball style double-header. Go in to the locker room, have a meal, fans can go get re-loaded back up, and play the nightcap. There has been enough speculation on here, as well as on Aaron Bracy's twitter, that the twi-night doubleheader would be great for the fans. However, let's not pretend that the league, the coaches, or most of all the AD's (revenue concerns) would ever go for it. I also don't think the game will come to Gola. Hoping for a neutral arrangement with the palestra, where we sell the gate for one game and they do for the other, and the contest becomes which side can sell more tickets.

If St. Joe's insists on playing a game at Hagan Arena, then we have no choice but to play our home game at the Gola. You can't give a team an advantage like that. I remember a few years back when we played our "home game" at the Palestra the same year that St. Joe's was playing all their home games at the Palestra because their arena was getting renovated. Then, I believe it was the following year, St. Joe's played "their" home game which should have been at the Palestra at Hagan Arena due to some "scheduling" conflict. It was an absolute joke. We basically gave them an advantage those two years, that can not ever happen again.
Either both games are at the Palestra (which I would like) or it's a game at Gola and a game at Hagan

How about if City Six plays all games at Palestra. Why hasn't anybody ever thought of it? Sorry, cannot help myself!

I really don't think they will have too much difficultly selling out two games at the Palestra and I dont think thats the concern. I think Phil the issue with this scheduling Giannini and him probably havent figured it out just yet either. A head to head at the Palestra would be sick.
Getting back to the schedule. Maybe there is a reason our schedule is weaker than perhaps SLU or VCU. Makes me think that G was able to land a high caliber team or he thinks GW going to be strong team and if so I have to agree, they could be really good this year. I think our RPI will be alright as well because I think even though we lost Butler, Xavier and Temple the core of the league got stronger.

Play one early in the conference schedule and play the other towards the tail end.
Play both at the Palestra. ( I would even play one of them at Hagan because you know they will whine about it. Heck it helps our RPI to win on the road.)
Make first game the Big Five game. Never understood why when Temple-SJU PA played twice they counted the second game for Big Five. Seems as if the loser of 1st game had "revenge" in the second.
Hawks had a baseball player drafted recently. MLB referred to him as attending St. Joseph's (PA).
Just saw WBB announced they will play two against Lady Hawks. Could there be MBB and WBB doubleheaders?

Guess that makes those high RPI matchups even more crucial. Less room for error. Need to capitalize when you can.
