Just passing on news of Brother Tom McPhillips' death this morning. Many of you probably remember him as a long time professor of biology, but he was also the longtime faculty advisor of the Jazz and Pep Band at La Salle. Always was a driving force in making sure a band was at the game for years and years. Keep his family, friends, and the La Salle community in your prayers as we remember a great ambassador of the La Salle name.

Even though I was not a bio student, BT was absolutely one of my favorite professors. He regarded everyone so kindly. We often talk about his role as moderator/lifetime member of the band yet he was so much more than that. He was willing to allow the students the benefits of "running the show" but was willing to tackle the nitty gritty if something was unexpectedly amiss, or if we needed his leadership he always was there for us. We knew his number by heart, and he was always overjoyed to help if called for whatever reason, no matter how trivial or inconvenient.

I did not know Brother Thomas, but it sounds like a big loss for LSU community and he and family will be in our prayers.
