I can't argue with what he said. Maybe we get back to the Sweet 16 again before then and maybe not. For a small school like La Salle, until we establish some consistency, it's a legitimate comment.

Sorry, it was a gratuitous, douchy comment.

I love that we will forever feel slighted and probably justifiably so.

I don't agree it's douchey. If he said 50 years I'd agree with you.

Richmond ahead of us? Based on what? Richmond will be pretty good, but not sure why someone would have them ahead of us next season.

There will always be those who believe that we just found dumb luck last year. It's the historical perspective. What they don't see is the trajectory La Salle is on. Another solid season for La Salle next season. Updated June Bracketology: www.explorertownbracketologist.com

Yeah, some people are a bit too sensitive. If you gave me the option of one and only one Sweet 16 between now and 2033 or just risk it, I'd take the guarantee with a smile.

Interesting first round matchup with G's good buddy ND's Mike Brey.

Team has a very good chance of making tourney again this season (2013-14) and if Lewis and Roberts are the players I think they are based on past history I believe the following season (2014-15) we will once again make the tourney. What we do in the tourney as always depends on seeding and opponent match-up. As far as looking down the road for 2015-16 much will depend on who G recruits but we still will have Lewis, Roberts, Stukes, Washington, Brown and Davis along with six additional new recruits so G has really re-built a once dead in the water program. After this four or five year run we can name the new 5000 seat arena (which will be announced sometime after next seasons tourney - wishful thinking) the house that G built.

"Getting four bids per season should become the norm of expectations for A-10 fans in the reconfigured college basketball landscape."
Found this interesting, it seems a little optimistic to me.

The only way I can see the A10 getting four bids is if someone else, outside of St. Louis and VCU, wins the A10.

I don't get how you can pick Richmond ahead of us for next year. What have they done? Am I missing some major recruit that's going to take them from middle of the pack to the top next season? Also, UMass still has a lot to prove. One NIT run two years ago isn't enough to merit the hype (again, this year).

I agree completely - UMass is the most over-hyped team with the most over-hyped player (Williams). The team got a couple good matchups in the NIT and made a run, which was notable, but it was still the NIT where there's a better than average chance a team you play isn't all that interested in participating in the game. plus, they lost Jesse Morgan so I really can't understand all the high praise for them.
The comment about it might be 20 years to get back to the Sweet 16 is harmless and probably more accurate than not. It's incredibly difficult to win 2 games in the NCAA tournament, look at SLU, people thought they could possibly be a Final 4 team and they couldn't get out of the 1st weekend.
I expect our team to be really, really good again and the OOC schedule should provide plenty of opportunity to strengthen the resume early on in the season and legitimize any praise we get for a good record. VCU and SLU will also be good and I put our team a half-step behind those 2 teams next year and I bet we go into the final week of the A10 season with some possible combination of wins/losses where we could win the damn thing if things break right.
I also hate to go down the facilities path here, but as we get more national "attention" they are going to assume that 1- last year was a fluke and that 1994-2011 is more of the norm and 2- with our facility, we can't possibly be a university that's serious about basketball success.

We'll always be an underdog, I'm okay with it. And we'll always need to prove it to doubters, year in and year out. We could go to the Sweet 16 next season too and have this same conversation after the season. But I kinda like it.
