That's awesome and well deserved. Garland can show him the SW Philly Floater. I think Brother Ed and the Philly Phanatic would get along well

We all know G is a preparation freak. Do you think he's working on his throw already? Knowing him, he'll want to fire one in there. No way he bounces one.

Went to the windrift in avalon last night. On the flagpole underneath the American flag was a LaSalle Explorers flag. Not sure what the connection is but what was already one of my favorite places moved up a notch.

Minute highlight video on the jumbo screen before G throws the first pitch. G in the booth with Tom McCarthy and Wheeler for half an inning. In a perfect world. I know there's been issues in the past with the Explorer's presence at CBP in the past though, most involved in the Phanatic's Birthday event where they invite mascots from all over. Some years it worked out, others it didn't - and for a slew of reasons from my understanding. I'll take the first pitch, be grateful, and consider anything else bonus time.

Being the mascot wasn't as prestigious as it had been in the past for a period during some of those real lean years, but they're doing good things now. Maybe Rowan can send the Owl for G too

Give me the costume (and a ticket) and I will go be the damn Explorer That's what I did one year. One of my roommates friends was the Explorer for a year. During one home game a 7 year old kid came up to him with his program (which had a picture of the Explorer) and a pen. He signed the program for the kid with his real name!

Prop bets
1. Does G throw from the pitching rubber? The front of the mound? The grass?
2. Does he bounce it?
3. Does he wear La Salle gear? Blue, Gold or White shirt?
4. Does he do a half-inning with Tom McCarthy? Remember the Phillies broadcast crew donated money for the student media?
5. Will Greg Murphy slip in he's a Hawk at some point?

The Phillies should put Reuben and Charlie at the plate that way we know G would throw a perfect strike. Better yet put Reuben and Charlie behind calling ball and strikes and let Howard catch that way we also know they will be hit. Other than the fact Howard can't run, hit or field he is a great player along with D.Young. Two nights ago Phillies went 33 batters without getting a hit which I thought would be impossible for any team but not our FILTHIES. You think this season is bad just wait cause it is going to get real ugly with this horrible group of players but good news is we have our Explorers to look forward too. I nominate Howard as the poorest fielding first baseman in Phillies history along with five year signing. By the way Charlie have you ever tried talking to your players about the fundamentals because as a group they are beyond horrible except for a select few (Utley, Lee, ....)

Went to game last night. There was ZERO juice from the crowd. CBP was dead. Two 5 years olds yelled " we want a hit" and that was it. Can't blame the fans. I read that attendance is off 20% and TV ratings are down 39%. It will get worse for the franchise. Too many older and less productive players. No help in the minors. Saddled with huge contracts. Papelbone pops off and this is never good. (I feel sorry for Charlie in one regard in that he doesn't throw his guys under the bus....then Pap throws everyone but himself under it.) The Summer of Discontent is upon us.
Maybe G will be the highlight on Sunday. He could get the loudest applause.

Not to digress from LSU but- Phils fans could put up with losing, with young developing players, but not with guys who should be retired because of age, health or just bec, they stink. We have some guys in minors who might be able to play-Ruf, Asche, Hernandez, Franco, Biddle and Morgan if he gets healthy. The Phils don't bring up guys until they are 25 or older.Bizzare. Even is all of forgoing stink, find out now and know what u have to do. I think that Schmidt was 22 in debut, hit .198 and 22 homers(me thinks), but team knew they had a talent.

Prop bets 4. Does he do a half-inning with Tom McCarthy? Remember the Phillies broadcast crew donated money for the student media? 5. Will Greg Murphy slip in he's a Hawk at some point? McCarthy called the whistleblower game on TV. Also, Scott graham, whom the Phil's later fired, was calling the 4OT game in 2004 up at CCSU.

1. From the Pitching rubber. Dead center of the plate. No bounce.
2. Blue shirt.
Good job G.
