1) VILLANOVA. An easy choice for any Big 5 fan. But it goes deeper than that. That athletic department is run by bullies. They kept Temple from rejoining the Big East for years by hemming hawing about going up to 1-A for football. And, not too long after Temple was granted membership, the Catholic schools bolt. That wasn't the cause (probably Houston joining was the straw) but it was no doubt a factor. F that school. Can't wait to beat them on their court this year.
2) XAVIER. They have a particularly snobby fan base (especially when it comes down to Bobby Huggins' Cincy teams) but certainly have a lot of dubious student-athletes on that team. It's a good program but they're not above reproach yet act like they're a Patriot League school.
3) DE PAUL. How the hell does De Paul get all of that Big East money? Their program is terrible. They play in an antiquated arena in the middle of the Chicago suburbs. They're in the middle of Chicago which produces an insane amount of hoops talent. They got lucky by already being in that conference.
4) MARQUETTE. Buzz Williams is a total tool.
5) GEORGETOWN. Loads up on an early season schedule of borderline D-3 teams, grabs a few tough conference wins, gets in the dance. That's their modus operandi and that's why they lose in the first or second round constantly. Also, the worst person from my high school went there via a bribe from his uncle. I've met some other kids from that school and man oh man are they awful.
6) BUTLER. Only because I was looking forward to that road trip.
7) PROVIDENCE. Not too far away from De Paul, but at least they try a little bit. I do love God Shamgod, tho.
