He also looks like Marlo from The Wire.

A huge pickup for the University. Provides an taller, athletic guard with above average scoring ability with college experience to Lewis, Stukes and whoever G signs in the 2014 class. There is a lot of PT there for the 4 guards and will be a high quality group immediately especially with Stukes and Roberts getting a year to know each other without using eligibility and work on their deficiencies...

The complete 2012 Florida 6A state championship game is available online and I had a chance to watch some of it last weekend. I really liked what I saw of Cleon. In the parts I watched, he didn't shoot particularly well from the outside, but he did everything else well. He's extremely long, can get to the rim and finish with either hand, and played under control and very unselfishly. IMO, he will be a great addition to the program.

It's amazing how G gets one good transfer guard after the other. A Rivals 3 star rating, and I believe he'll have three years of eligibility. La Salle could be set up for a long term run at NCAA tournaments, esp. since the A10 should get at least 2-3 bids a year. Wonder how instrumental Sam Mills was in recruiting Roberts. A guard group from 2014 on featuring Roberts and Stukes (with a 6'10" shot blocker) is a nice core to build around.
Btw, if La Salle has runs in the NCAA Tournament the next few years what would be the return for the University? New arena?

Awesome that this is now official. He will be a tremendous addition. First Sweet 16 present for us.
I don't think Sam Mills was the connection.
Side note, his uncle played for NY Giants. William Roberts OT for many years. Khalid Lewis' uncle-in-law is Ken Grffey Jr and Sr is grandfather-in-law.

The only pro sport that I'm even casually a fan of is Phillies baseball. Could care less about the Sixers, Eagles, or Flyers. It's so bad that when my wife gets mad at me, she accuses me of loving La Salle b-ball more than her.

Third-ed, except I am also a life-long fan of the Fightins and secretly am a little happy they will soon be back in the basement and I won't have to endure the nonsense of the Eagles fans that became Phillies "fans" the last few seasons. Further to 1801's point, I just don't understand how you guys know all these names and find all this stuff out, I'm completely fascinated by it all. The only "story" I ever broke was Sherman Diaz's commitment back in the day when Billy Hahn told me an a buddy at the old Blue Chip reception that he had just gotten a commitment from a kid, but didn't name him for obviously reasons but I was able to figure out who it was based on the info BH shared, but that was pure luck on my part.
I always thought my wife (an alum) couldn't care less for the basketball team, however, this season proved that she's probably more passionate than I am. She openly admitted that she would distance herself because she couldn't handle the disappointment any more and when we finally began to break through last year and then especially this year, she was a total maniac for every game. She even pre-planned the babysitters for homecoming this year to be 100% certain we are in attendance. I for one hope the school goe all out this year for that event and puts on the full court press to get as many people out to the game as possible and have as much pre and post game action as they can get together.

Homecoming this past year was great and that was after a NIT first-round loss.
I can't even imagine what the heck next season is going to be like. If the team starts out hot, it's going to be really hard to get a ticket. I can't even imagine what the St. Joe's game will be like if we're looking like a contender next year.

Last year was packed. Ten minutes just to get beer at the bars in the tents. I think this year they will need more tents or at least more bars! Also looking forward to tailgating in the townhouse lot this year.

I have a wedding to go to this year on Homecoming Day. Sorry but I'm trying to figure a way to miss the wedding and make the Homecoming. The groom is son of my wife's best friend. This is killing me because I blew off another wedding to go to La Salle- St. Joe game once.

The first year Homecoming was part of a hoops game was great b/c they ran out of beer and then everyone was just drinking red wine b/c it's all that was left...it was as though no one ever graduated and started drinking whatever was in the cabinets once the beer was all gone.

Your dedication to La Salle BBall is immense. In the internet age I have the opportunity to see more La Salle basketball than when I was on campus (67-71). There has been a tendency to overhype the past when we get frustrated with the present. We are in a very good place right now.... something that I didn't see coming. That makes it all the more enjoyable.

Based upon what I've read in different newspapers about Cleon Roberts, it sounds like he'll be a very nice pick-up for La Salle. Sitting out for a year is tough, but it sounds like this guy will be worth the wait.
