I know there is a good chance we could pick up a transfer hopefully on a waiver or another freshman but for the fun of it what role with these players have and will we be better than last year or is that a long shot which is the difference between NCAA or NIT?
As well all know our fresh legs come the fall are Jermaine Davis, Amar Stukes, Tony Washington and Khalid Lewis. Losing Galloways going to hurt significantly while many of us want to rub this off. On the upside it seems while we have a different team it is a more dynamic team. It not simply going to be about our guards. We have more size, still have great guards, great ball handlers and defenders.
Our size is going to be I believe our biggest factor and difference. Zack, Davis, Wright and I guess Brown. Zack and Wright I believe with be a force to be reckoned with if Zack improves and Wright plays at the same intensity he did in the second half of this season. My biggest question in terms of the big men is what will Davis bring? Will he not only be able to keep up but contribute significantly?
Khalid should pick up some of the slack from the loss of Galloway but I dont know if it will be enough. Hopefully Amar or Tony can be significant players. As we know Duren and Garland are great shooters but sometimes we wish they shoot less. For the most part they are smart on the court specifically Duren. D.J should shoot more threes and same for Mills. I watched a few videos of Amar and Washington but i am not sure what Gianninis plan is if anyone knows share it.
Its going to be interesting to see how our size helps our guards and vise versa. When Zack wasnt injured he created the chance for open shots which should help our guards specifically the younger guys like Khalid. So with Wright, Davis and Zack helping our guards will we be even better despite the lose of Galloway?
I am interested to hear other views on the subject. I am hoping for another great season and I believe it will be.
