Paul Jorgensen is a new name to me. Do you have any other info on him? Just in the way of a clarification, not being a wise guy, Notre Dame Prep where JG attends, is located in Milwaukee, WI.

Jorgensen just blew up over the past few weeks on the AAU circuit. Lots of mid-major offers with some high major interest. La Salle has not offered him yet. Garrett is taking a post-grade year in 2013-14 at Notre Dame Prep in Massachusetts (where Jamel Artis went). He is just finishing his senior year at West Allis Central HS in West Allis, WI, which is in the Milwaukee area.

Your welcome. Just trying to help those that are interested. I'm not perfect so I might have "offer or interest" wrong. Also might get the state wrong but it's the name of the player that's important.

Add Mikal Bridges a supposedly unheralded SF who may be in for some big time offers.

I'll take a lengthy guy with some speed. Gotta see if he keeps improving.

With a kid a from Maryland, it could only help.

Austin Tilghman (2014/St. Andrew’s) recently talked to COBL (Bentil's better half) A solid 6-1 point guard, has offers from La Salle and Stony Brook. He’s certainly interested in the idea of being an Explorer.
“La Salle, I like them a lot,” he said. “They play four guards, which I like, and they’ve got big men down low. They get up and down the court, I like that.”
Tilghman said La Salle’s Sweet 16 run “definitely” piqued his interest in the school, but added he likely wouldn’t be making his decision until sometime after the fall, around when his senior season starts. A good shooter, he would fit in well in the Explorer’s uptempo, guard-based offense as someone who can score and create.cityofbasketballlove.com/2013/05/big-shotsteam-final-notebook-may-20/

Bridges recently drew interest from Florida. Spoke to someone who knows the local HS scene and he is amazed at the offers this kid is receiving. He might have the most impressive list of schools following him and that includes Newton.
FYI, heard that Ja'Quan Newton has some sort of injury. Heard the same thing about Shep Garner.
For all the Horace Spencer fans (which I am not), I believe he qualified for the PA State Track and Field Championships this weekend as a High Jumper.

My understanding is that he is closer to 260 than 280. (300 was a long time ago.) Supposedly has very quick feet for a man his size.

A Chicago kid? Interesting.
You'd think we'd have a lot of interest from Philly guards. Is there just not a strong mid-major Philly guard crop this year?

I'm just happy to see G hasn't rested on his Laurels, never would expect him to do that but you never know. We went through that as a program once before and if we can avoid it this time I'd be thrilled.
I remain convinced that next year could be another great year and that there are going to be plenty of minutes available in the 2014-15 season for a great young guard to play here but still be a part of an overall strong team with Lewis, Stukes, Petersen, Wright and Zack around.
Big key to me is landing a couple strong big guys like Steve Zack with the class of 2014 or 2015 so they can step into his role.

I think he's saying that after next year there are presently just 2 big men, isn't R.Brown more of a swingman type? So at least one power forward or center should be added 2014 to avoid the problem this year when la Salle was really down to one big man after injuries.

CK I understand and believe G will probably land one 6-8 or 6-9 big next recruiting class along with two highly rated (2.5-3.0)guards. Coach has really set team up for the long haul when you look at how recruiting has played out. I would love to get S.Garner as our local guard but I don't know how interested the young man is at this point.

Like lwc said, G has the team set up for continued success with his recruiting strategy. As far as Garner goes, I am not a fan. I thought he was only the third best guard at Roman Catholic after Rashaan London and Traci Carter (who has since transferred). I feel that London is being underrecruited and is capable of playing at the A10 level but it doesn't look like G is interested. There are numerous other guards that La Salle has offered that I'd rather have than Garner. I'll be shocked if he ends up at La Salle.

A couple new 2015 recruits to add to the list: Alex Kline ?@therecruitscoop 1h La Salle offered 2015 Team Final (PA) guard Donte DiVincenzo Donte is a 6'3" guard from Salesianum HS in Delaware which will make GloryDays happy. Apparently La Salle is the first to offer. Also got calls earlier today from Villanova, Georgia Tech, Marist, and Notre Dame. cityofbasketballlove.com/recruiting-profiles/donte-divincenco-g-2015/Coast 2 Coast Hoops ?@coast2coasthoop 2h '15 GA Stars C Noah Dickerson was contacted by Georgia, Georgetown, La Salle, Mississippi, Clemson, Bama, Cincinnati, Memphis & Georgia Tech Noah is a 6'8", 255 lb PF/C from Lovett HS in Atlanta. Already has a number of BCS offers. Reminds me a little of Jermaine Davis.

Found out we were interested in Shuler recently. Did some research and I can say I am out of my funk. Kid is exciting and talented. Only concern is he is little smaller than I'd like but can't have every thing. He has skills that G likes. Can play with and without the ball. Can handle point and wing. Can't get what you need in Philly. Going to DC isn't bad.

This player seems like he will compete directly with Stukes for the point job. 5"11 is probably closer to his true ht., as all hts. seem to be exaggerated. Fine with me. I'm sure no one promised Amar the starting position with no competition. Now we need the stud 2, who is also willing to be the ultimate team player. Ideally we land him and another big and save one for transfers, unless there is another 5 that can be developed. That covers everything but the banger to replace Wright. That is my perfect world scenario.

44 I think we already have a good one in C.Roberts but you are correct in that you have to keep the train moving to be good year in a year out. It makes for a very good team if you can go two deep at every position which basically means ten players every season who contribute. We need two deep and A.Stukes and J.Schuler would be great with both getting playing time at the point.

Stukes is actually taller than Duren

I see Roberts and Rohan as paired 3's, although Cleon could easily slide into the 2. G appears to be involved with more quality players that I can ever remember. As hard as it is to believe, we could be reloading instead of rebuilding after Zack and Wright graduate. Next year is key to being taken seriously in the last 20 or so years. We will finally have laid real tangible groundwork with another haul in 2015. I never could have thought it possible with what we have to work with. We have gotten a reputation as a university that takes academics as importantly as sports. Kudos to all of the tutors that have made it possible. They all deserve a raise in pay for the effort to make us relevant again.
