I'm a DePaul fan, and would like some info on one of your assistant - Will Bailey.
Please tell us DePaul fans, what type of assistant. Is he a good communicator, talent evaluator, who has he recruited on your current team, what type of Chicago connections does he really have, and are we getting a gem ? I have heard that he will be taking the assistant job at DePaul.

Coach G always had nothing but good things to say about him. Went out if his way with me to give Bailey a lot of credit most people probably would not know about. He worked a lot with our guards and that was the strength of our program so I would have to say he did a pretty good job from a teaching/motivation standpoint. He got us involved with several kids that I know of that ended up elsewhere and these kids were not from the Philly area. Most notable was Amida Brimah that ended up at UCONN. Bailey was one of the first D-1 head or assistant coach that got Brimah's handler to schedule a visit with them.
From afar he seemed to be a decent asset to the coaching staff.

I grew up as a kid in Chicago. It was the Mark Aguirre, Terry Cummings, Clyde Bradshaw teams that got me into college basketball. My heart is with La Salle, but I would love to see a DePaul resurgence.
Go Sox!

Will Bailey is safer at La Salle than going to De Paul. How much longer will Oliver Purnell going to be there and keep Bailey on staff?. Perhaps the money is better or he just wants to go home. I can understand both if that is the reason but he may be there short term if they don't turn it around.

If this is true, it's a huge loss. G got up on the podium at the banquet and admitted to being a control freak but said the one area where he allowed an assistant full control was with Will and the guards. It's no coincidence that the guard play at La Salle has been outstanding since he's been on the staff.
You can't blame Will for wanting to go back home, and I'm sure it would be a nice pay hike, but like 88 said, he might be looking for a job again soon because Purnell hasn't been able to turn it around there and it doesn't look like he will be anytime soon. I think they had at least 4 kids transfer out of the program this year.
