Smart move on his end. Still don't believe we're in play, sounds like he might be looking to stir up some action for his name, maybe get someone new involved.

Looks like he's now thinking about the other LSU:
Matt McCurdy ?@mattmccurdy 4h
LSU in the mix for Central Connecticut State guard Kyle Vinales, according to Hartford Courant. Averaged 21.6 points as a sophomore.

He is in our rearview mirror, our choice.

NEC to potentially the SEC? Not a bad jump...their road to the NCAAs is more difficult than ours but who knows...

He is in our rearview mirror, our choice. Which puts him in the same boat as "literally every player in the nation requiring a 2013-14 scholarship".

I agree completely - unless the kid breaks a major rule or something it's really bad form if you ask me.

I agree as well. I understand that the scholarship is a year to year deal but why wait until now to inform the player. Unless there is something more that has not been disclosed, it stinks for him trying to find another school at this point.

Most major college basketball and football coaches are really awful people.

College sports are really hard to justify liking.
Imagine how different things would be if coaches had to redshirt a year when they left for a new job?
It's so unfair.

That's awfully horrible. Crews and Company reward a kid's loyalty by sticking with the school through all the turmoil by pulling one over on him. I get that it's a business at the end of the day, but you're screwing with a kid's future.
I guess it's often lost in translation, and maybe we take it for granted that G does value his players' educations, but first and foremost is school. SLU really soured me, to hell with them. I hope they flop this year after a move like that.

Question: How does this play into Drew's eligibility? I think he should be eligible immediately, IMO.
