I know he probably can't come now, but how did his visit go? Did he stay for the whole visit? Any feedback?

I don't know but I would assume it couldn't have been that good considering he came to visit with the idea of possibly playing for La Salle and was most likely told DJ was coming back and we didn't have a scholarship for him.

UPDATE
I have a buddy a CCSU who friends with Vinales. He been all over the past few days but he will be making a decision very soon.
GOOD NEWS: La Salle still in the mix, he felt comfortable with the players and really like Giannini. Giannini offered him an different option in terms of his scholarship but my friend didn't get the details. Also said that he believed La Salle has a better shot at the NCAA tournament over the other teams he visited.
BAD NEWS: He also loved Xavier. Thought it be awesome to play not only in the Cintas Center but in the Big East. His concern was his playing time due to their roster being full of guards. Overall he really liked the school and I dont blame him.
He also making a few more visits but told my friend at this point couldn't specify which I understand.
NONE OF THIS IS QUOTED! I just relaying the information choose to do with it what you will. I think it is a pretty good sign and I am working on trying to find out the specifics to what Giannini offered him. My guess is that he will receive some sort of academic scholarship.

I thought of this. But given how anal retentive the NCAA can be about its rules, might they have a hissy fit on this being a way around scholarship rules?
Btw, sorry about two posts. I'm having trouble using quotes in posting.

I'm having trouble using quotes in posting. Ivy League does it all the time. "Non-scholarship" programs that receive academic merit when it is below other incoming students.

Saying X has a disadvantage because he's concerned about PT with their guards doesn't bode well for us either, at least I think. I mean, we're guard heavy too...

If you can score 18 ppg and hold the guy you are guarding to 8 pts then you will find minutes on the court especially with G.

Yeah, but we have four guards coming off the roster after this season. Right now, for 2014-15, we have Khalid Lewis, Amar Stukes, and DJ Peterson (who is as much a 3 as a guard) on the team.

Playing time will not be an issue for guards in 2014 and we will still look strong with Zack and Wright being Sr..

Cleon Roberts is in there also. If Vinales is coming, he will be higher on the depth chart than DJ, I would have to imagine. He is just a better player, now if he isn't able to play his role on within the team like DJ can then DJ needs to play. In terms of talent, Kyle is just better and Roberts also. Really it would be Roberts that would affect PT.

If there is a will(space), there is a way....of course within the rules.
Would Vinales be comfortable in a role where he is not the #1 option like he was at CCSU. Would he be comfortable accepting a role where he would not get 35 minutes a game and maybe closer to 18-22 minutes a night?

Would he be comfortable accepting a role where he would not get 35 minutes a game and maybe closer to 18-22 minutes a night? that is my biggest question. I think if he decides to choose xavier his playing time will be on a lower range of that they have so many guards. One reason I see him coming here is he will get 22-25 minutes expessially later in the season. Hopefully La salle can grab this guy, be huge for the team.

I think if Vinales wants to transfer to a quality team, he's going need to accept not being the number one option. If I recall, his whole reason for transferring is that he wants a legit chance to dance. If you want to dance, you're going to need to play the role needed. If he's got a dream, a goal, he'll make it work. G is great at making a team.. Well, a team. Not just bunch of individuals and I don't think he'll take players who don't buy into that.

what kind of decision is that. His visits toledo and commits within two days. Why out of all your choices you choose toledo or any team in the MAC conference. Guess it just shows he has to be in the spotlight or he not happy. Good luck going to the NCAA tournament.

Yea I know La Salle wasn't going to be his pick. Still though toledo there in the MAC which is close to terrible. He thinks he can carry a team to the NCAA tournament. He going to be in for a rude wake up call.

Looks like they will be pretty good when he is eligible. Coming off sanctions for academics, they have a good recruiting class and mucho transfers. Man, that place is transfer city.

Jeff Goodman?@goodmancbs1m Hearing Central Connecticut transfer Kyle Vinales may not be a done deal to Toledo, per source.
Wonder if G is working behind the scenes trying to make this happen for a transfer here? Or maybe not. In any event he has taken his commitment tweet down.

Toledo? Even if the school has a supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus recruiting year or two they're a good bet for a serious NCAA Tournament run?

It looks like something gave him pause - from twitter:

Not sure if we could have someone redshirt for a year just to get him on-board.

Not sure if we could have someone redshirt for a year just to get him on-board. Even with a redshirt year, a scholarship is needed for that player

What makes us think we are the reason. Sounds like a new school is getting involved.

Or he realized going to toledo was a stupid decision which it is. If he has a shot at the big east why not take it. If he comes here that be great but I dont see how that happen. The A10 is his best choice though. He will struggle for time in the big east and he def get more in the a10 whether that be here or anywhere else. Glad he reconsidered his decision.
