Could Washington play (without coaches) with scholarship players? if so, you'd think some upperclassmen could school him on team philosophy, plays, system, etc. Could he play with some assistant coaches (I'm thinking not).

Duren, he can workout on campus and use any facility available to regular students. He might have to go to student health instead of the athletic trainers if he twists an ankle (guessing on that one). Doubt he would play intramurals due to risk of injury
CK, he can workout with the other players any time he wants, in or out of season, but how often do they play without coaches being around in season? Very little, I'd guess. If he is a non-qualifier, coaches can give him workout plans and ideas of what to work on in his game, but can't give him direct on-court coaching until sometime next summer, whenever he becomes a scholarship player.

I wasn't entirely serious about the intramurals, but I am concerned about him not seeing game-like scenarios until next summer, guessing the Delco League or whatever it might be. Workout plans and guidance are one thing, but having a kid go from high school to the NCAA DI A10 with taking a year and summer off... Pick up with your boys can only do so much.

Steve Smith, Shawn Smith, Romaine Haywood, and Randy Woods all had pretty good seasons after sitting a year without being able to practice with the team.
