Would be nice to learn officially that an offer has been made. Better yet that it's been accepted. They can't announce him until the NLI paperwork has been received. I also believe G (and someone correct me if I'm wrong), likes to announce all of his signings at once. If they're still holding out hope for someone like Bond, they may wait for the official announcement.

G said from the podium that they had a commitment. If not Roberts then who? I think he's the one.

Could this be a junior committing already? Meaning he can't sign until the fall signing period? I'd guess doubtful, but you never know.

I'd guess doubtful, but you never know. When you see a Philadelphia based college insider tweet something per more than one source.. I would tend to believe him.. Especially since he has not been any documentation saying that the guy has been wrong before with anything else from the sources..

It has been by mentioned by me before but it is worth mentioning how this offense really enhanced the skill set of a Galloway and Roberts. Their description coming out of college were eerily similar. If anything it had Roberts higher "ranked" and a better pure scorer than Galloway. Galloway was better in the defensive passing lanes and on the boards.
Notice the dramatic jump in Ramon Galloway's offensive efficiency numbers (in bold): 2012-2013 LASL 34 1133 52.1% 56.6% 1.2 0.275 554 207.0 414.2 2011-2012 LASL 31 1032 55.8% 58.9% 1.1 0.234 451 180.0 311.9 2010-2011 SCAR 30 734 42.8% 46.4% 0.8 0.246 200 9.5 147.9 2009-2010 SCAR 31 667 49.8% 53.0% 0.8 0.279 193 45.5 130.2
Roberts freshman year offensive efficiency numbers would confirm the recruiting reviews: 2012-2013 GASO 33 901 52.3% 56.8% 0.7 0.383 251 86.0 186.7
Data from TeamRankings
Heck, per the data Roberts was better offensively than Galloway was in his Sophomore. It needs to be mentioned that Galloway took advantage of the sit out to improve every facet of his game. This is the question that Cleon will have to answer, how will he spend his sit out year. But the data showed a huge jump for Galloway between his La Salle and South Carolina.
Two things to conclude from the data: 1) Galloway improved his overall game in the sit out year 2) Even more so than the sit out year, the offensive spread of La Salle's guard based offense allowed Galloway to take advantage of his natural ability and not be held down by coach designed plays which naturally can limit a player's ability

Jeff Borzello?@jeffborzello1m Georgia Southern transfer Cleon Roberts is headed to La Salle, per a source. Athletic wing, shoots the 3 -- perfect for the Explorers.

RG did not have to sit out, but part of the point is valid in that RG really worked hard over the first summer to elevate his game. My avatar picture has him and the other "new" boys from the first summer (Steve, Jerrell and DJ). RG also was a huge positive factor from the get-go and that positivity made a big difference for this program. While not a headline grabber, Dunn had a similar positive force to add to the mix. The chemistry for both was just what the Doctor ordered after the Aaric soap opera.

Galloway provided that leadership needed to teach the team about teamwork and hardwork. Outside of a miserable freshman year for Duren and Mills, the rest of the team has tasted nothing but postseason. They know what it feels like to be there and what it will take to stay a tourney team. They just need to continue to build on it and not get lazy.
Hopefully, they all realize they need to improve their all-around game to go farther.

I get what you are saying but it was horrible team chemistry, to be clear, that led to a miserable experience for Duren and Mills during their freshman year. Aaric Murray being the "problem child" that G was forced to release.

Someone mentioned Bond had recently visited, can anyone confirm that? I did see a confirmed official visit with Temple is schedule in the next week or so... I am student at La Salle so I can't confirm that it was exactly Bond, but last weekend there was a recruit visiting.

All that matters to me is that there will be a dude named Cleon on the team in 2 seasons - imagine the possibilities for creative nick names!!

If you recall, I was super excited to have Aaric and Parrish on the team. That didn't work out so well.

May be repetitive, but just noting Cleon Roberts is reported to have verbally committed to La Salle. I guess he will play 2014-2015? For what it's worth, he seems to be rated (starwise) pretty highly, for example above Amar Stukes and Marin Maric. Could this be part of a continuing pipeline from Southern Florida to la Salle?

He was highly rated and then as it seems with all recruits that choose a none BCS school their ranking falls but still finished high... The fact that he had a visit with Louisville in Miami tells you everything you need to know... and now we get him when for a year he gets to train on his vices (upper body strength and quickness) and gets to build a rapport with Stukes. Needless to say, I would take this signing over Aaron Brown any day of the week... A wing that can't shoot just doesn't have a chance in college basketball..

If Miami and Louisville were interested then he has got to be good. I like it a lot better then finding out that his 3 finalist were Marist, Siena, and St Peters. I think we have our back court of the future. Now onto the forwards.

Anyone know the answer? Do we have a verbal, LOI, or nada.
