I don't know if anyone else mentioned this yet, but I just saw online that the banquet is sold out. Does that happen every year?

if it does, it happens when it's in the ballroom which obviously holds a LOT fewer people than TGA, unless it's in the mezzanine.
Great to hear and anxious to hear some reports later tonight from some posters, sad I can't make it but life as a parent calls.

he gave no indication other than we got a commit. My understanding is Stukes is signed so it's not him. My guess would be Bond only because he visited recently...sorry to get hopes up but not be able to provide a solid name.

Mookie thanks for the info and if it is J. Bond that would be a nice addition.

Unlikely him just yet.. Not saying it isn't but isn't likely

Knowing G's eye for talent I would bet the new verbal will be a nice pick-up. Probably someone none of us heard we were involved with like Standhardinger.

insider.espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/evaluation/_/id/77704/cleon-robertsWow... 85 from ESPN and a Top150 Rivals prospect from Miami.. Giannini hitting up South Beach again.. and we will have him for 3 years as he was a freshman this year.. Strengths: He is an athletic SG who has an excellent stroke from 3. His ability to knock down the 3 keeps defenders off balance with his ability to make mid-range jump shots and drive to the rim. He has excellent athleticism which allows him to finish plays in the lane, and be very productive in transition. He is an excellent ball handler who can use his ball skills to get to the paint to score and dish to teammates.
Weaknesses: Although he must add strength his shooting range extends to the arc. He is a decent ball handler and passer in the open court but must continue to hone those skills along with becoming a better rebounder on both ends.
Bottom Line: This wing is long and is a good athlete but is still a work in progress. Roberts is talented but must continue to add to his game and work to improve his overall skill set.

Pretty sure you only get two years. There is a price to pay when transferring unless their is a hardship waiver involved, at least that is what the rules were.

That was the first thing that I thought of... Rangy, athletic scorer who can shoot from distance and in the paint..

I am confused... why would he get punished? You get punished by sitting out a year. But if transferring costs you a year then how does Lewis have 3 years of eligibility? Both players transferred before their 2nd year started.. You have 5 years to play 4 years of a certain sport By the way, I am right in this matter.. Only mention Lewis because it provides a like example to Roberts..

Lewis has 3 years to play. And Roberts would have 3 years to play. They both transferred after their freshman year, sit out a year and then have 3 more years to play. Hence 5 years to play 4.

I think he got confused with the Garland transfer... because Tyrone played the first semester it ended up costing him a full year.

I think he got confused with the Garland transfer... because Tyrone played the first semester it ended up costing him a full year. I think Tyrone has two full years of eligibility left. He played his freshman year in 2010-11 for Virginia Tech, then only played the first semester of his sophomore 2011-12 season. He sat out the second semester of 2011-12 and the first semester of 2012-13, before playing with La Salle for the 2nd semester this season. So he has only played the equivalent of 2 seasons, and thus has two seasons left. Here is Dick Jerardi's original article about Tyrone Garland's signing: articles.philly.com/2011-12-22/sports/30547239_1_salle-coach-john-giannini-la-salle-transfersHe will end up playing parts of 5 straight seasons, and be a 5th year senior in 2014-15.

Whoever the 3 year pickup is... and I think it's ridiculous to speculate especially if you're wrong about how many years he would even get (3 -confirmed)... G says the number one reason he came was Molly Gallagher's behind the scenes videos.
