Power forward originally committed to Old Doninion but re-opened his recruitment due to coaching change.
According to Adam Zagoria he is visiting 1st weekend in May and the Bonnie's last weekend in April.
I thought since he was visiting so late that G may have been holding him off waiting for another player but given both visits are late it may be Taylor doing everything so late because of his de-commitment.
Kid got nice reviews from Dave Telep.

Damn, just beat me to it. What ever happened to him after his appendix? I remember him having a couple strong games right before then.

That article was from October. This may be the first payoff of the NCAA run.
He would be like a bigger version of DJ that plays inside more. At least that's how it seems. Sounds a lot like what Paul Johnson was.

Both Bond and Taylor are interesting because they don't seem to fit G's plan of having forwards who are much taller. At least that's what he told some of us. Wonder what this means for Rohan Brown since they are more like what he brings to the table?
Marin Maric is supposed to visit soon too. He's 6-10.

Height aside, it looks like D Taylor's forte is rebounding. We certainly could use some help in this area.

You have to like what his coach says at that link: “He is a warrior,” St. Ben’s coach Mark Taylor previously told SNY.tv. “He is the guy who you win with. Even in our pickup games here, whichever team Denzell plays with, they find a way to win. “He does a lot of things that go unnoticed that help you win. He has a constant motor, gets loose balls, blocks shots, sets screens, makes putbacks. “He doesn’t require the basketball, which is a rare breed. He doesn’t pout, he just keeps going whether he touches the ball or not. In today’s game, that is a rare breed.”

Bond, Taylor, or Christmas. How would you rank them in talent? Who would you want first second and third? Rohan Brown was not talented enough to help offensively in the tourny. We need a guy skills.

I wouldn't know whether to place Rohan 3 or 4, but I'm pretty sure it goes Christmas, Bond (big gap) other two.

Taylor was depicted as a great defensive rebounder, who picked up most of his points on putbacks; however, he really exploded in the last two games. I read in one article that he went off for 40 pts & 18 bds. in his last game. His game is nothing like Peterson. It also appears he is much better than a 2* at this point. I'd love to have him for 4 yrs vs. a yet unproven Bond for two. They are both power forwars and Taylor is being listed at 6'8" in some places. Id also like to see if Niagara's soph. shooting gd. hangs around after Mihalich's departure. Forgot his name, but he averaged just about 20ppg. Son of a pro.

We need a low post player who can score and take pressure off the guards. In the link above from zagsblog, it indicates he only scored 5 pts and had 6 rebounds in a 67-65 championship game. So, he definitely is not a scorer who can create. Rohan Brown does now what this player offers. Is this a sign that G has limited prospects for the spring signing period?

There are always less prospects available in the spring and much more difficult to find impact recruits. However, you can never judge a frontcourt player by his stats. Some players get the ball alot and some just are there to get put-backs and rebound. You really have to go watch frontcourt players to gauge how they can perform at the next level. Lavoy Allen was not a scorer in high school but he played a major role for Temple, albiet an inconsistent one. Taylor is also playing high level teams. I have full trust in G's talent evaluation. If he wants someone I am conditioned to be fine with the player now.

You are thinking of former Knick's star Anthony Mason's son. His name is Antoine Mason a 6-3 RS-SO guard from Queens NY. What about two former Philly kids? We need a scorer and some want a traditional SF. Well Niagara has two players that really interest me if the want to return home. Juan'ya Green 6-3 195 SO. from Archbishop Carroll. A perfect fit for G's system. Played PG but is one of those inter-changable guards. Played in 33 games and averaged 38 minutes per game. Shot .402/.331/.807. Had 163 assists with only 89 turnovers. Averaged 16.5 points and 4.0 rebounds. Galloway production. Ameen Tanksley 6-6 200 G-F Imhotep Prep. Averaged 30.3 minutes a game with 11.3 points and 6.0 rebounds. Shot .41/.333/.676. Joe's always liked to get up and down the court and shoot three's. They had an eye popping stat this year. 5 players had more than 100 attempts from 3 ( 108,119,132,169 and 170). They also attempted more FT's (754) than 3's (738). Finally, I was shocked to see that Devon White played 18.6 minutes a game in 25 games after hearing he had a serious injury this Summer. Devon had his usual 5.6 pts and 5.1 rebounds but he wasn't the turnover machine that he was at La Salle ( 25 assists and 25 turnovers).

Good catch JB tying those kids to a possible transfer to La Salle with Mihalich leaving. You have to believe all the Philly schools would be interest to some degree in Green.

Nealum and 88, Taylor was on a d-1 loaded team. If you can knockdown forty, you're big time my mind. I looked at Green and Tanksley, but their %'S on treys wasn't that great. If the rumor on Xmas is valid, I'd like to wait on that. G is going to get some quality kids with that run.
