Watch it while its up on ESPN.com. Click on 'Men's Basketball' and then look for the 'Men's Basketball Blog' at the middle of the page for video on the LaSalle / Wichita State game. Tim Legler does a nice job talking about the LaSalle program and why it has been successful in the tournament. Good piece.

I know little to nothing about the Shockers. I do know teams like the Shockers have helped Temple get to the final 8 a bunch of times. You need a little luck and things to fall your way. Things are lining up for the Explorers. Can this team have better big men then Ole Miss and K-State? Can they have better guard play then what we have faced so far? I know these guys can bang cause they bounced Pitt and the Zags. The thing is we couldnt be more different then those 2 teams. I hope our style throws them off. What is your guys take?

I think there were some fair points but he was too guarded to retain the veneer of objectivity and as a result, his piece devolved into a bit of a half cocked analysis.
You can't tell me 3 teams that were relative mirror images of La Salle and its style were unprepared for what La Salle would bring to the game. Moreover, in this digital age, tape on us can be found anywhere and we played in the A10, not under a rock without any digital feed for crissakes.
Why not tell the unadulterated truth Legs and just say 3 teams with similar styles and make-ups matched up and one team swept the table due to superior guard play EXECUTION on the part of La Salle version 2013? The same can't be said for guys from Legs' era, who could not and did not deliver like these guys did.

Purely hypothetical... If Giannini leaves in a year or two after another appearance, would you comfortable giving Legs a call to coach?
He has a name to recruit with (he has been on ESPN for what 7 years now) and has coaching experience on the lower levels so you know their is an interest in coaching.. Very analytical..
Thoughts?

If G bolts, I think the job is Jeff Neubauer's to lose. A name from the past who has fared really well at Eastern Kentucky which couldn't possibly be a harder job.

Why would Legler want to coach? He has a great gig at ESPN. I like what La Salle did when they hired G. Find a successfull lower level coach that has a knack for recruiting and thinks outside the box as far recruiting goes. La Salle needs a salesman as a coach. No way around it.

Legs, if getting Giannini's job, would be getting a huge pay raise

It's just because they have it starting at Midnight tonight and is set as an "All-Day" event.

Thank you for the clarification. I guess playing LaSalle should be considered an all day event. GO EXPLORERS.
