Ryano, your points are Well taken. I watched the zag game. Wichita is a lot like la salle. Fast strong confident guards. I think you would agree ours are more skilled offensively, but you guys can get hot quick. Especially the Spanish kid off bench and white starter who can shoot. I like your big men buy didn't see them play low a lot last game. I think this game is going to be evenly matched and the team that wins will be the one to hit more threes. Definitely ... I like La Salle a lot. Galloway seems VERY good, and the other guards aren't fall off. I love the speed, athleticism, and the unselfishness with the ball. Galloway seems a lot like our starting PG Armstead, although a better scorer. I was surprised to see how few seniors you had ... you guys play like a way more experienced team than you are. I do think a lot of you guys are pretty far off on what to expect from us, though. I know there's a lot of people that are just seeing shots of Baker nailing 3s against Gonzaga and assuming we're a 3 point shooting white team, but if you look at our season-stats, we're way more similar to VCU than to Gonzaga. I think we've adopted some of VCU's style after playing them each of the last three years.
I don't know if the game will come down to who hits the most threes, though. We blew Pitt out despite only shooting 10% from 3, and we beat VCU despite only shooting 16%. 3's aren't a stat I'm really worried about. I think our game against Pitt is a better barometer for who we are than the game against Gonzaga, if you want to watch one (I'm rewatching your Ole Miss game right now ). I love teams like La Salle. I get really frustrated when Wichita plays in conference, because the non-Creighton teams tend to do everything they can to slow us down and turn us into a very methodical team against complicated zone looks. I love watching athletic, fast-paced games. I hope the refs let both teams run in this one.

Welcome to the board ryano, very good points. WS isn't nearly as slow as some other team like Creighton was this year. Coachd, I see what your saying with Baker, but if you would like to see a slower team you should watch When WS played Creighton! Check out 3:30 and 5:20 where Gibbs pulls a couple Southwest Omaha Floaters. Doug Mcdermott went for a career high 41 and was looking like a Workaholic on fire. Maybe a key we could use is to slow it down on these guys and hope one of our 4 capable perimeter shooters lights it up. If galloway, rd3, sam or djp can hit and make them press early, I like our chances. As far as the spread? +3.5 La Salle is better than fair. WS came off a stomping of Pitt and a win against a #1 seed (and #1 ap) Gonzaga. I'm proud vegas is giving us as much credit. Bilas already counted em out. I would bet straight up for the win, the money doesn't matter to at this point. btw, don't worry ryano Coach G doesn't read this stuff anyways.

Welcome to the board ryano, very good points. WS isn't nearly as slow as some other team like Creighton was this year. Coachd Wichita State fans always mock Creighton for being full of slow, 3-point shooting white guys. It's what made me laugh about that same comment being directed at us. Following Creighton's strategy would probably be a pretty good gameplan considering they beat us twice out of three games. Although in the video you linked to, Creighton shot over 70%, and you won't find too many of those shots that weren't pretty well defended. I've never seen shooting like that before. McDermott already had 21 points a few minutes into the second half before he missed his first shot ... 3's, floaters, drives under the basket, he hit everything. If Galloway goes off like that, you don't have to worry about anything.

Let this be your formal introduction to the Southwest Philly Floater:

Hi Ryano. Not every thinks your team is slow. I was on this board early saying that your win at VCU needed to be respected. You have to be pretty athletic to beat VCU.
Good Luck but naturally not on Thursday night.

I respect Wichita State's talent. They're very good. But the talent disparity is miniscule if at all. They handled havoc and won at VCU.. So did we. They are outstanding rebounding.. but they also lost to Evansville, who was 244th in rebounding in the country, Southern Illinois who was 324th, Northern Iowa who was 280th, and Indiana St who was 207th. We were 292nd. It isn't like they've completely manhandled everyone who they had a clear advantage over in size and rebounding. We can overcome the rebounding difference, we have to continue to have good defensive rotation and front their bigs. Obviously, we need to have a good shooting night, because we simply can't survive a poor shooting night seemingly at this point.
Another point I'd like to make is that we are more battle tested. They've played Creighton twice and VCU, Otherwise their BCS conference opponents are Tennessee, Iowa, and Depaul. Our regular season slate has us prepared for this moment. It's our time.

No disrespect intended Ryano. I just made an observation that I had... and obviously you've shed some light on how your team really is.
You've had a good run. Good luck next year.

Regardless of who wins, it'll be a great game tomorrow. I just wish we were both up against some more big names to keep as many of the non-Power 6 teams in as possible.

They've played Creighton twice and VCU, Otherwise their BCS conference opponents are Tennessee, Iowa, and Depaul. Our regular season slate has us prepared for this moment. It's our time. No doubt our rebounding and size advantage won't mean we're going to manhandle you. However, I'd say if you're looking for a line to draw between those Evansville, SIU, UNI, and Indiana State losses, it'd be that all four of those teams made us play very slow against zone defense the entire game. While La Salle is a tremendously athletic team, I like our chances against an athletic team playing man defense far better than a slow team playing zone. And, for what it's worth, we out-rebounded all of those teams, by 14 in each of the losses against Evansville for that matter ... if anything, those losses showed that dominating the rebounding margin isn't always enough to win. I'd warn against worrying too much about BCS conference opponents, though. Tennessee, Iowa, and Depaul are a long way from the best teams we played this year, regardless of what conferences they come from. We're also 10-5 against the RPI Top 100, 5-2 against the Top 50, and 3-2 against the Top 25. La Salle is 7-8 against the Top 100, 4-4 against the Top 50, and 3-3 against the Top 25. I'd say we're plenty battle-tested, personally >=) Would love to have some of you guys visit us on Shockernet.net to chat about the game. We still have a number of VCU fans that stop by regularly, so we've got a lot of respect for A-10 fans.

I've already got tons of respect for your guards.

Line crept to 4.5 with a 134.5 O/U... Probably to entice a few more bets since it sat pretty steady all week.
