What I mean by this question is, can someone explain what the monetary payout of one game in the NCAA's means to LaSalle? What would the payout be if we advance and so forth. With the A10 getting five teams in, how does the league distribute the NCAA payout to all schools in the conference?
I realize that an NCAA appreance will increase our profile in the tri-state area and beyond from a recurting perspective, I just wanted to find out what this means from a dollar and cents perspective.

It means millions of dollars. We have to hope that the administration puts this $ in a sacred trust fund to be only used for new arena construction.

Might be better used in keeping G at La Salle in case we make a run and someone offers him a different job. But agreed, would be killer to get the ball rolling with some new facilities.

Dead on right. We need G here to sell the new facility (or renovated one) to the donors more than anything. Plus, the guy deserves it.

I don't know about now, since so much has changed in the last several years, but when La Salle was in the MAAC, I remember reading that the tournament bid meant $250,000 to whomever went from the league.
No doubt, it's a lot more now, but just to give you an idea.

I think it's like $1MM, I feel like i read that a few years back.
Curious to see what kind of impact this might have on the # of male applicants next year from the class of 2014.

I guess time will tell. Number of applicants will go up and the school will become more selective on admissions.

It is $270,000 per unit earned per year for 6 years..
La Salle keeps 75% for itself and 25% goes to the conference pool...
La Salle will naturally participate in the other NCAA units earned especially Temple's as they are not getting a dime

I thought this was going to be about losing G. "Ramifications" feels negative.

wait, $270,000? per game? that doesn't seem like a lot. That only adds up to $17MM for the tourney. Does it go up for each round maybe? if you make the Final 4, I find it hard to believe you only get $1MM

I read that as $270K x 6, paid out over 6 years. So a (non-adjusted) value of $1.62MM per round.

Gotcha. That makes more sense.

To be clear, that was just my interpretation of the post, not a verification. But if its true, and we can beat Boise St., the play-in game will have been a huge bonus for us.
