Nice work. I like the 18-0 stat for La Salle. Good dig!

It's good to hear La Salle called one of the usual suspects along with VCU. I usually suspect Temple and Xavier.

Nice work. I like the 18-0 stat for La Salle. Good dig! Thanks for the stat also. I think G takes a lot of heat( a loud mouth newcomer at GW game) for going to the delay game too early to milk the clock. The stat validates G's tactic. Granted sometimes (like against GW) we look a little sloppy but the end result is to protect the lead. When you have the lead, the clock is your opponent. Mike Francesa (WFAN in NY) told a story last week about John Wooden's refusal to use the delay game against NC State in a NCAA Semi-final game. UCLA gave up the lead 7 times in the second half. Ultimately, they lost the game and another NCAA Championship. BTW, the reason Wooden would not milk the clock was that he was in favor of the shot clock. His way of making a point.

I was going back through the old Aaric threads (courtesy of the West Virginia board -- they feel the same) and saw I posted something about how G should go.
Man, I could not be more wrong in retrospect.
The stats bely it this season since we're amongst the national leaders in shooting threes and, more importantly, using that AND preventing threes as our strategy. He has the roster to do so.
He also played for outliers with the Rodney team. They were a VERY good rebounding team and were Top 50 in those stats, if memory serves correct. That was the way to go with a team that had height at every position. It's a shame that senior year didn't work out because that was certainly a really interesting team headed into that season, especially since they were starting to shoot the ball a little bit their junior year. They also had the length to do damage defensively but for whatever reason none of that clicked. He always said that team didn't have any real vocal players and that could have been the reason, since man defense requires a lot of communication.
These guys certainly do that. They're constantly talking and pointing. They really get the concept of team defense. It certainly helps when you have three guys (Ramon, Sammy, DJ) who can defend the hell out of anyone. Reek's almost at that level, too, and Garland's picking things up. The bench also explodes whenever someone takes a charge, way more than they do for a dunk.

I liken a charge to a sack of the QB on 3rd down. I absolutely love it.
