Fordham's not gonna help us out. Temple is up 11 at halftime.
Elsewhere, Dayton up 5 on the Bonnies. Dayton is getting hot. Would like to avoid them in Brooklyn if possible.
Joe's killing URI.
Charlotte's freefall continues- losing to Duquesne by 7 at Half.

Maybe nudge down Flyers' RPI under 100.
Upon further reviewed....Bonnies 105 rpi....Dayton 103 rpi. Road top 100 win is more valuable.

I believe that if VCU loses tonight (currently up 2 at half on Richmond), we clinch the 3 seed. Hear me out:
We are 11-4, they would be 11-4 as well, technically putting us in 2nd for now. If we were to lose to SLU, and they beat Temple, they be 12-4 and in 2nd. We'd be 11-5 and in 3rd, Temple 10-6, Butler no better than 11-5, which we'd have them on.
If we lose to SLU and VCU loses to Temple, it's a 3 way tie at 11-5. Temple would get the 2 in this scenario (blech), and we would be either in a head to head with VCU, or a 3 way tie with Butler, which we come out on top of in both scenarios.
LET'S GO RICHMOND!

Definitely pulling hard for Richmond. Seems like VCU has picked up the intensity and 'havoc' in the 2nd half so far, though....

VCU is going to do the Temple thing where they got my hopes up and then win by 4.

VCU scores 6 points in a row. So much for that. Now we need VCU to beat Temple Sunday. OR we could just win Saturday.

OK, we really want St. Louis to beat Xavier now. 2 reasons: It wraps things up for SLU. They'll still be playing hard Saturday, but we don't want them having extra motivation. Also, it knocks Xaviera little further down. Our ideal scenario is still getting the 3 seed and missing Butler, Temple, and Xavier on Friday.

Although I do believe St. Louis losing does keep the chance we could win the A-10 and get the 1 seed alive. I still think it's better if they win though.

I'd like to see SLU win in like 5 OT periods tonight and be wiped for our game.

I'd love the chance to win the regular season title; but I just want whatever scenario makes it more likely that we beat SLU.

Basically it's simple, a SLU loss makes it a lot better for us if we beat them, and worse for us if we lose to them.

For me, it's like this: If we beat them, anything that happens in BK is for seeding. Important, but not critical.
If we lose to them, we'd like a favorable match-up next Friday. That's more likely with a Xavier loss tonight.

I'm pulling for X. I get the whole added motivation angle, but the same was said on this board when we went down to VCU to face them after their loss to Richmond. Why not add the chance to compile more hardware? A10 Regular Season Champions is a major accomplishment, especially with how deep the conference is this year and since it is essentially the last year it will be on the cusp of a major basketball conference. GO X!!

I'm watching the SLU/X game as we get it on Fox Sports Midwest. Xavier is playing very well but everytime they get some distance SLU comes right back. Both teams in the bonus with 6:30 to go, Xavier up 1

I could see SBU pulling the upset of the 5 seed on Thursday, I'd like a crack at them again with a healthy Duren

You just know that if Xavier wins this game, and we beat SLU Saturday, Temple will bone us Sunday under the only circumstance I would ever root for them. Like that one time I had to root for the Eagles to help the Giants, and they lost to the Vikings at home.

Closing in on the final media timeout, Xavier is really playing well but can't get any distance. Mostly because they are missing a ton of free throws.
52-45 X with 4:40 to go

Not that it matters much at this point but FYI, #6 Miami is in a 1-pt game on ESPN3 against Georgia Tech inside the final media timeout
