I guess he is tired of seeing the opposition students rush the court. I think it has happened in 42 of the last 51 losses ( from ESPN broadcast). So now he feels the need to speak. Of course, there are safety concerns for the Duke players and staff but the cynic in me thinks Coack K was just peeved. Look at the clips, UVA yellow jacketed Security was on the court with locked arms to protect the psotgame handshake. If Coach K was that worried down 12 maybe he should have directed his team to exit stage left. I will say UVA needed to have the Duke bench near their locker room. Hey, La Salle does that for their opponents. Maybe we do something right. I feel bad for the Duke students they don't get to experience that same feeling our students(neighbor's daughter said it was the most exciting thing she had ever experienced) had this year versus Butler.

Simple solution. Duke cherry picks the top talent year in and year out .they have a great coach, great tradition , great program , a storied arena, a bunch of national champonships and should be honored that the few times they fall a year it's makes the other team and its fans year. They can have a pre game announcement. "In case we upset Duke tonight, please wait until the Duke players, coaches, and staff get safely off he court be you storm it and have one of the greatest college sports moments of your life.

Jellybean. I suspect that you are right, this was more about Coach K reacting to a loss than real safety concerns. Students have been rushing the court for years after big wins and suddenly Coach K is concerned about safety. For a coach with a terrific resume, he's awfully cranky.

Screw him and screw Duke.
Coach K literally has every single advantage in college basketball. Pretty any recruit he wants, he gets. Essentially EVERY one of their games is nationally broadcast. They play "road" games in the off season at places like the Meadowlands that are set up for their very wealthy NE alumni base. HE'S THE COACH OF THE DREAM TEAM! And, also, they've gotten way more than their fair share of whistles over the year. And literally no one in the national media says anything bad about that team, which is in complete disagreement with how us Real Americans think.

I completely understand the concern if a student was ever to do something to an opposing player/coach or vice versa but Coach K how about beating these teams and they won't rush the court on you

He had his lap puppet Bilas making a case on Game Day. Reece Davis countered whatever little of his logic there was. In the end, Bilas backed down a little and said "Planned court stormings should be eliminated." Whatever. Security should guarantee a visiting team's safe exit, but they pretty much have and Ratface is bitching about some tragedy that hasn't happened. He's worried about what could happen.
In reality, the "Man" is bitching about losing in the end, because he wants to win everything or have a country club exit when he doesn't. He's worried about a what if ... some student gets in his face and he loses it. Ratface has a high class problem. He should stop and smell the roses and let the little guys shine every once in a while. If somebody gets in your face, show some class and say, hey you won -- you earned it. Don't regulate students' happiness and excitement just because your get every call team visiting team lost. He wants to take all the fun out of the game. The SEC has already banned it. Let's hope the NCAA doesn't push it down to other conferences.
I can tell you the Butler storming was a legit circumstance to storm, there were not any security issues and it was awesome. Those students will talk about it for the next 30-40 years. Why be a grinch, K?

St. Joe's game at Palestra is my favorite La Salle basketball moment of my 4 years in college and I'll never forget that night, I'd hate for future students to not have that feeling

I think a case is to be made that trying to prevent storming is more dangerous than actual stormings. Imagine if the dolt arena security staff tried to prevent a storming against Butler? There would be some problems.
Heard a bunch of Nova kids got hurt during the storming at the Wells Fargo Center because of exactly that same reason.

My biggest problem with Bilas' comments were that he didn't like the "planned" stormings where the school and security discuss beforehand that if their team wins there will be a court storming. If the stormings are so unsafe he would be complaining that security wasn't prepared and the school dropped the ball. I don't like arguments where someone will argue either side of the argument depending on how it fits the current topic

He MADE Duke into what they are today. His recruiting battles for the top players are typically against the same coaches every year because of what they've achieved in college (Pitino, Calipari, Dean Smith, Roy Williams, Tom Izzo, etc). Just sounds to me that you're spewing "hate" and jealousy...
