I thought John Chaney was a great coach. He appeared to be an irascible but caring coach. I didn't always agree with him 100%, but I did quite often. I loved when he went after Calipari at the press conference. RIP.

Anything higher would lead me to believe that Dunph is a miracle worker.

We’re playing this season in a renovated arena. He already is one.

i fully expect the scoring difference to be made up by lilley and additional production from the other returning rotation guys along with deuce jones. same goes for assists.
I'm more concerned about taking care of the ball than I am with the scoring. The team averaged less than 10 TO's a game last season, while Brantley and Brickus combined for about 4.3 TO's a game. And I'd say they had the ball in their hands about 85% of the time. And there were very few, if any TO's that were committed down the stretch of a close game. Their experience and floor presence are going to be missed this year.

Seems as though Lou Brown's pregame speech before the first game of the season fits here perfectly.

To get this thread back on track regarding this year…
1) Guard play- It is a guard’s game… Can we replace Brickus’ efficient offensive game. My hope is we improve defensively as the Killers Bs really struggled to keep guards out of the paint. I am optimistic here as really perimeter defense couldn’t get much worse. However, offensively there is a legit concern especially around perimeter shooting.
2) Play out of the Power forward spot. We haven’t had one for a few seasons and the lack of depth has been the Achilles heel of the team. Rokus had little to no help last year. As mentioned Zan, Shep and Tunde all played out of position. It showed up materially. Unfortunately for us, it looks like it is going to happen again last year. Dunphy has done a poor job managing this part of the roster.
3) What type of offense are we going to run? A spread motion focused offense has been the preferred choice while the team put up some numbers it was relatively inefficient and several critical players just lacked the skill set that is needed to optimize this offense. If you struggle to shoot from the perimeter, you will struggle to run a spread motion offense effectively.
Overall, I like a lot of you are hearing great things about Lilley. I shake my head in disappointment at the possibly of Rokas playing next to Lilley. Front court would have the first time in a really long would have been an advantage in most games vs a handicap. Also hearing good things about White. A “noticeably different built athlete” has been the refrain. Attack, attack and attack some more should be the slogan for him.

Bronny James wouldn't start for La Salle.
