I was in town for the Bill Raftery golf outing and asked about viewing the ongoing arena construction. This request was readily accepted. I was completely blown away with the progress and the in depth explanation of how this transformation was thought out. Additionally, not being publisized but should be, is what’s happening under the west stands of the stadium and Wister Hall. The old track/ROTC building has been razed and a new 7500 sq ft building under the stands will replace that old dump, it was old and dilapidated back when I graduated in ‘71. Wister Hall will have the bottom floor under the book store gutted and used for locker rooms for soccer, M&W, Rugby, Baseball and perhaps weight room. The first floor classrooms above the bookstore will be repositioned as team meeting rooms and lounges for the previously mentioned teams. My concern is nowhere has this been publicized nor any fund raising opportunities promoted to assist these projects, disappointing to say the least.

It is a part of a bigger project and they are accepting checks now. 8-figure project alongside the recreation park area near Glazer
