RIP Larry. Toughest guy on the 68-69 Explorers that finished #2. Outstanding offensive player, and another pro and first round draft choice from that team. Although he played at Lincoln High, we claim him as a St. Helena Parish in Olney native. Fourth starter from that team to pass.

How many of La Salle's top 10 players are still alive? We seems to have lost a lot in the past 5-7 years.

One rugged hombre. The stories of his strength became part of campus lore. Rest in peace #20.

One of the greatest passers in school history but strong enough that he had 26 and 25 against a great Western Kentucky team that finished the season ranked 6th in the country. RIP

That's a shame. I never heard anyone in past years recite the best players in La Salle Basketball History and NOT mention Larry Cannon. I have no doubt that status will remain unchanged in future years as well. R.I.P.

It is scary to think, that with the passing of Larry, 4 starters of the greatest team in Big 5 history ,have now died. Durrett,Williams, Taylor, and now Cannon. I was an undergrad during those glory days, at La Salle..Those guys gave us such thrills during that time. May they all RIP.

and maybe it's me, but i find it disappointing that neither the school or the athletic department have gotten around to putting out a press release or anything on social media about his passing. this guy is a la salle legend. rip larry. Too busy rolling out Pride month social media stuff. They did get around to Cannon release just a bit ago.
