Just received my Season Ticket message. I'm a bit alarmed at the prices. $8000 for a Courtside ticket including a mandatory 1x capital gift.
VIP tix are $2000 including 1x capital gift.
I was really looking forward to the new arena but having a hard time justifying paying more for 1 ticket than I do for 2 Phillies 17 game plan tix. I usually only get to half the Explorer games. Not sure what I'll be doing.

Facebook announcement said to click link in bio… only link is to goexplorers.com, where there was zero info to be found. I haven’t been a season ticket holder so I assume that’s why I didn’t get email mentioned, but I was definitely curious in light of renovations.

If you wanna dance, you gotta pay the band. If you wanna borrow, you gotta pay the man.

The chairback season ticket plan I purchased last year was $329 plus a $250 explorer fund donation for $579 per ticket. This included opponents like Rosemont and Southern Indiana but not the Big 5 classic.
This year looks to be $450, plus a $550 seat gift, plus a $1000 capital contribution to the arena, for $2,000 per ticket.
Is the product being put on the floor and the fan experience worth almost a 4x cost increase? We don't have a roster or schedule finalized, so....

You need to spend/raise the funds in order to improve the program. To say I will not increase what I pay for seat until I see more is self defeating in my humble opinion. Unfortunately as I live in Chicago I usually only see the team when they play Loyola, Dayton or St. Louis away. I do plan on getting back for a game or two in the new arena.

It will be interesting to see how many full season tickets are sold. While I would prefer lower prices, I intend to renew. If we want amenities and a competitive program more money must be generated. I do hope that if we don't sell out season tickets, a partial plan will be offered with proportionate seat and capital donations. Additionally the ticket office should offer a resale program for season ticket holders to sell tickets they can't use. I think there will be a lot of fans who will want to attend a few games in the new arena so a legitimate resale program would be good for everyone

I understand but it's real sticker shock. Wish there was a way to use my IRA RMD to pay for the tickets and at least get a charitable deduction. Can't think of a way to do that without some serious coordination with the school.

A modest increase is fine and expected. An almost 400% increase for a team that finished sub .500, made no noise in the A10 tournament, and isn't saying what those games are that they will be hosting (will there be another Rosemont?) is absurd. Add to this request, the request to donate to the collective so we can buy/rent the players needed to compete in this era of college basketball, and the already dwindling fan base will be less likely to stay engaged in person. The luster of the arena will fade with more bottom third league finishes and players with potential flying the coop.

Probably too much in the first year. La Salle should expect to charge more but they need to read this a little better. It all comes back to supply and demand. I wouldn't push away people with this type of increase which I worry might hapen. Would love to have seen a modest increase and get the buzz up with the new arena in the first year. Maybe we get Glitter's match if correct to tough for a lot of people to stomach I would think in today's inflation ridden marketplace.

Pay for the ticket from regular funds and the seat gift and one time from your RMD. If I find out I will post it here.

The luster of the arena will fade with more bottom third league finishes and players with potential flying the coop. st joe's (pa) pulled this same stunt after they renovated the fieldhouse aka hagan arena. they lost many season ticket holders because of it. i was hoping la salle wasn't going to make the same mistake. whoever put this plan together is not reading the room. we are not villanova coming off multiple seasons of ncaa bids. these are not hot tickets and there is no waiting list. i am covered as far as the capital gift part goes for all of the ticket tiers, but there is no way i would even consider buying any of the courtside packages (avg per game ticket prices based on 17 home games are $294, $250 and $206 when adding in the seat gift which will now be required annually). so if i still want to have a sideline seat, now my only choices come down to whether i want to stay at the vip level, where my avg per game ticket price will now be approx $59 per game, or the premium level at $44 per game. i'm going to end up doing one or the other but la salle better find a way to make it worth my while if they want me to continue to support the program and renew going forward.

Yeah...and they had come off 8 consecutive winning seasons that included 4 NCAA appearances before re-opening the Hagan. If they lost season ticket holders with that record, I'd imagine we will lose more.
I'm most definitely out. I spoke with two guys today who normally buy 2 tickets each and are definitely out. I make slightly more than half the games, but at that price, I'm better off just buying seats for the games I make and trying to get there maybe 5 or 6 times during the season...if what's on the floor is worth seeing.

With the number of people who have already stated they are going to shift their donations to the NIL collective, we need to generate Revenue somehow and I don't fault the school for this move.
I can see where they would want the seat license for the first 2 rows and a VIP area, which also comes with the pregame food and beverage. I'm still doubtful that they'll get seat licenses for this many tickets though. Is it renewable annually or is it a one time
And for the women's ticket which also is up 120% (old $50 - new $110), you can sit anywhere except the first two rows which are still at a premium.
I'm realizing there is some sticker shock but also expect they will (if necessary) come out with a few buy 3 get 1 plans that should bring the prices back to earth and also help make people feel like they're getting a coupon. I think the risk there is that people who paid the seat license may feel there was diminishing value in what they bought.

Last year that required membership in the Champions Club at $2500

They're out of their goddamned minds!
There's no way in hell I'm shelling out that kind of money - especially to see the Lehighs and Coppin States of the world. It's a shame that I have to call it quits on season tickets, but this is strictly for the affluent La Salle alums.

Just a point of comparison for the frugal shoppers among us: tickets for the last regular season home game last year were $3 or $6 depending the section.

Does the once called Champions club now refer to the Glaser Suite??

I had a conversation with someone at the school. The seat gift and capital gift are charitable contributions. Also for older alum the seat gift and the capital gift can come out of your RMD. The capital gift can be paid over a two year period as noted in the ticket section of the website.
