I have no inside information but I would guess we were having trouble getting home games and with only 4 OOC home games we were getting desperate to get at least one more home game.

lafayette is our homecoming opponent on november 9th. i suspect this will also be the grand opening of glaser arena. x.com/LaSalle_MBB/status/1814711629705023935?s=19also announced a couple days ago is a 12/21 game against immaculata. i think that leaves one more open date. not happy at all about playing another d3 opponent, especially with the huge increase in ticket prices. ash is doing a great job but they dropped the ball on this one. another lost opportunity to get better. It's disappointing.

La Salle is literally the hardest team to schedule.

I’d love for everyone complaining to go schedule the games. I would be happy to schedule games. You'd never see a D3 game on he schedule. It's a low expectation to meet.

How about a MEAC team? Yes, Howard beat us last year. Maybe Pappy Owens could visit with DelState.

How about a MEAC team? Yes, Howard beat us last year. Maybe Pappy Owens could visit with DelState. Any D1 school would be an upgrade. This is the 3rd time in my 22 years of following La Salle that we're playing a D3 school, so it doesn't happen often. The concern stems from this being the 2nd consecutive year that we're doing this. A trend seems to be starting here. ***If we go to the Maui Invitational and have to play Chaminade, I'm cool with that.***

A lot of D-1 schools schedule D-2 schools. Top D-1 programs are not going to come to Glaser and hardly any of them would come and play us at the Palestra without making us visit them 2X.
Now with larger conferences the non conference availability is less so it is not easy to put together the schedule some people want.
Add that to the biggest reason for scheduling these types of games………..stacking some wins and you have the schedule that we have.

Just a guess but i think it’s extra difficult to schedule around Christmas if you’re not willing to travel. Then it probably comes down to money for the buy game not being enough to attract anyone of quality. I’m anti playing non D1 games because they don’t count towards win column in Net and they are meaningless besides getting walkons minutes.

I'd imagine the same argument we are having about scheduling Immaculata is happening on North Carolina's board about scheduling us...

Again, what does a team get out of beating Rowan, Rosemont, or Immaculata by 40 points? La Salle baseball could go play a top D3 school and it would be a tight game, and I'm sure other Olympic sports would be closer. La Salle would be better served scrimmaging. There's 3 dozen or so schools within bus trip range. All of them aren't unwilling to play at Glaser around said date of this squatch match. Don't tell me that this can't happen, it's happened up until last season. I feel the same way when schools schedule football games vs 1AA/FCS schools. I knew the Notre Dame coach was a clown when he scheduled Tennessee State under the guise of ND never playing an HBCU school. Don't waste my time. Ditto the SEC schools that will play 2 FCS schools. Again, don't waste my time or money.

I’d love for everyone complaining to go schedule the games. i'll tell you what. i'll sell you my ticket for this game. it's costing me approximately $133 and an approx three hour round trip car ride to watch la salle play a d3 team (and a mediocre one at that), and that's not even close to being the highest tier ticket. season ticket = $ 450 seat gift = $ 550 one time capital gift = $ 1000 total cost = $ 2000 divided by 15 home games = $133.33 and on top of that, i assume i'll also have to buy a separate ticket for the big five classic. it wasn't included in the season ticket package last year. i've been a season ticket holder for around three decades, stayed loyal through some really bad seasons and tons of bad decisions by the administration. i bit the bullet and am overpaying this season because of that loyalty. the price will go down next season because the capital gift won't be part of it, but the ticket is still going to be around $67 per game. espn+ looks better and better.

I'd imagine the same argument we are having about scheduling Immaculata is happening on North Carolina's board about scheduling us... unc plays enough good games that they don't mind playing an a10 team who won't severely damage their net ranking. if la salle's net ranking (195) is in the same range as last season and unc wins easily, it will actually help unc because margin of victory is a big component of the net.

A lot of D-1 schools schedule D-2 schools. immaculata is a d3 school. at the very least, if you can't find a d1 opponent, at least play a competitive d2 school. the rosemont game was embarrassing and it did nothing to help prepare la salle for the a10 schedule.

I don't know what to make of it (I do, but why beat a dead horse)... in a sense, we could come out of it with 2 losses, or we could come out of it with 5 losses depending on how good or bad this team plays.
It's a very 2007 or 2008 Giannini schedule. I thought Dunph usually schedules tougher than what we have this upcoming season.

I wonder if the American game is scheduled for a Monday to try and get a good turnout of students. So many go home for the weekend that scheduling this game when most will be on campus sounds like a great idea.

Too many Owls in that conference. Army is in it for football now, and they're right in the middle of playing 3 straight games against teams named the Owls.
