Should we do this, or the NIL fund? One suggestion, at least for this year, is to take whatever you would have given to men's basketball and split 50/50 with the NIL fund. |

Should we do this, or the NIL fund? I think either is great and everyone is entitled to choose whichever they desire. Personally I’d choose NIL over this if forced to choose. |

Don’t see an option for the arena renovation. Did I miss it? You didn’t miss it. What you do is click on the “Give Now” link at the top of the Day of Giving homepage. Then scroll to the bottom of that page and click on “Other.” You type in “new arena” in the comments section. Many thanks to the very helpful Debra Franke, who patiently walked me through this. |

overall, a great day of giving. total is now at $1.435m which is $435k over the $1m goal. that's at least $250k more than what is was when i looked at the number early this morning. lots of generous people came through yesterday and today, with a number of them contributing to multiple programs at the school which louth did. he'll now have a drawer full of explorer socks to wear. any donation is great, but i saw there was a nice amount of 4 and even some 5 figure donations. that is outstanding. lots of matching gifts as well. there was one guy who contributed $25k on his own to the men's swimming/diving program !!!
nice to see so many people care about the school. go explorers !

So, I made my paltry contribution to the general scholarship fund in the belief that it’s more important than the basketball team and it’s what the school is truly about. Now, I do love my Explorers and then that got me thinking. I’m not looking to exploit my fellow Alumni, however, if we are serious about raising the profile of the team back to what we had with the L-Train do we need a NIL giving day? Nothing around the same time of year, but maybe the week before the season starts when people are getting their season tickets or something. I know that would be a good time to ask me to put my hand back into my wallet. Maybe that’s an NCAA taboo thing or there is something obvious that I’m missing. But again, this past week got me thinking…
Also, does anyone know the size of the existing Explorer nil?

Looks like the Day of Giving was a success. Site says they took in over $1.4 million. Great job by all involved and thanks to all who gave!
