Wow, what going on with the women basketball team with 6 players in the transfer portal. Our best player Nicole Melious (A10 all freshmen team and leading scorer) in the portal. Something is wrong with the program and it needs some fixing.

Whether they kept Mountain or not this was going happen. These athletes are looking for the next opportunity or NIL payment. There is no more loyalty or attachment to the program you signed with.
Previously the leverage was with the program. Now it is with the players.
As far as Mountain, not sure why they are keeping him. He hasn’t improved the program. I wonder if he got an extension at one point and still has time on his contract.

He hasn’t improved the program. I wonder if he got an extension at one point and still has time on his contract. In terms of A10 Tourney wins, you'd be correct. However, he still has far more overall wins than his predecessor who only won maybe two or three big5 games in 9 years.

The program is really no better than when he got it. If fact worse. Part of that is the transfer portal and not all his fault but ultimately you need to step back and evaluate the program now with the simple question - Are you confident he can lead the program to some type of success? My answer is an emphatic no. Not sure how the administration feels and that is why I asked if he can a guaranteed year in the bag which I would understand why he is here. Otherwise, I and others should be perplexed.

I think he last some to graduation/no eligibility The loss of the Jacobs sisters was big. Once one left they all left. Lots of points out the door

Otherwise, I and others should be perplexed. Until the bottom fell out this year with graduation and the loss of the Jacobs sisters the program had improved. The last year under Williams they were 8-22. Mountain took over in the 18-19 season and they were 6-25. After that they were 13-14, 12-14, 16-12, 17-14 the 2022-23 year. In conference were 15th in his first year. After that we were 10, 11, 5, 8 in 2022-23. We were 13th this year. So except for this year there was steady improvement. Crawford, Shears and Sprull all were out of eligibility I recall and the Jacobs sisters all left. Big Hit.
