How does Nevada blow a 17 point lead with about 7 minutes left? A 20 point turnaround. That's a fierce choke job.

Now Texas with a 25-3 run to end the half against Colorado State… guess that’s why they say basketball is a game of inches

As you probably remember, Alford played for Bobby Knight, so he's probably been talking to himself ever since.

Oakland is about to beat Kentucky. Maybe Cal will be done in Lexington. They're probably grumbling in Kentucky, but how easy is it to find a coach slimier than Calipari? My favorite Calipari memory was when John Chaney stormed Calipari's press conference and threatened to kill Calipari. I wish Chaney had made it to the podium and clocked Calipari. That was 30 years ago and Calipari was a dirtbag even back then.

Oakland is about to beat Kentucky. Maybe Cal will be done in Lexington. Just read he has a $33M buyout. This day and age, that means you need at least 7 boosters to divert their NIL funds to his buyout.

One and done in the NCAA tourney doesn't cut it in Lexington.

Yeah, but did you see Calipari recruiting during his pre game presser? 70% of kentucky players get drafted to the nba and 73% of those players get second contracts. As long as he’s getting the players and making the tournament, a year or two of an early exit doesn’t hurt him.

I don't think Cal was way off base in his postgame remarks. Jay Wright, in the post game analysis, pointed out that Cal is playing very talented 18-19 year old kids (most of whom will go to the NBA) against a team with much older mature players.
Of course, I get some enjoyment out of seeing Goliath getting slayed by David.

Of course, I get some enjoyment out of seeing Goliath getting slayed by David. I think it's an excuse by Calipari. As someone else pointed out, 70% of his players go to the NBA. He gets 5 star, McDonald's All American recruits and the best international players. Oakland doesn't have anywhere near that level of talent. Their star last night was from a D2 school. I believe Oakland had other transfers in from the portal this year. The difference was coaching, not experience. Oakland was ready for Kentucky and had a plan. Kentucky based on the sheer disparity of talent should have won that game.

Worth noting that overtime elite is folding and covid years are over after next year, so it will increase talent to Kentucky and shrink age gap. Not sure they want to wait that all out though.

He's been to 4 Final Fours and won a National Title with Kentucky. Jay Wright did more at Nova. Besides the Duke team that beat Wisconsin, his Kentucky team with Anthony Davis, and the Carmelo Anthony Cuse team, name me a championship team comprised of one and done players?
I gave you 3 teams over 21 years... it doesn't happen often.
Cal might have to start building a team if he wants to get back to the final four after missing it for a decade.
Maybe I'm like an NBA or NHL GM, and like to fire guys (I think the Bucks were very dumb to fire their coach for Doc Rivers)... but if I'm a Kentucky booster, I give zero fucks about the NBA pipeline. That's 3 years in a row that they are 1 and done in the Dance.
It's a good string at La Salle or Richmond. It doesn't cut the mustard at Kentucky.
Everything else is just bullshit.

BYU had the fourth highest 3PT rate (% of shots not % of makes) in the country on the way to their good record. That 50.4% number was only 42% yesterday and they lost.
Oakland was 88th at about 40%. Yesterday it was 49%.
Samford almost beat Kansas. Yearly they were 80th at 41%. Yesterday it was 51%
It’s how lesser talented, smaller teams beat more talented, bigger teams.

Only 1 of those teams you highlighted actually won. So you're 1 for 3 there.....

That's the entire point, dude. Its the only way for a lot of lesser teams to hang and even when it works, it might not get the win. If Samford took half that amount of 3s, do you think they win?

No idea. Don't know if they were the "lesser team" (to use your words) in their matchups. And you (and Joe) bring up Samford...who didn't win.
