Temple survives. I hope they win. Think Fisher is a good coach.

Also Dana O’Neil can get lost. Hasn’t written anything meaningful in 20 years.

Playing UAB for the bid is wild considering it’s how this all became public.

Honestly I want Temple to win and then some more news to break and they get disqualified and removed from NCAA tourney

I hope Temple wins the entire NCAA tournament. If they do, when we beat them next year it will likely be a Quad 1 win!

It’s gonna end up with Khalif Wyatt coaching the team

If Fisher knew and didn’t report it’s over. Apparently Greer messed up with a cell phone. Don’t know about Clark.

You can’t bring in a kid that shaved points. He won’t play college basketball again if the report is true.

Also I don’t want a kid that was dumb enough to bet on his own team on his own account.

Hoops did not have the scoop on that. I read an almost verbatim blurb about 2 or 3 hours ago on another site.

Lynn Greer: 9 games suspension. That's not point-shaving severe, but that is pretty severe. Any more info on that one? What was that comment above about a cell phone? According to that article, the 9-game suspension could be a suspension for gambling on other sports.

According to that article, the 9-game suspension could be a suspension for gambling on other sports. Trilly Donovan said it was small gambling amounts on other events that he was not involved in. Obviously, you should know you can't gamble period but also normal behavior for anyone else in school. This will not shock you but the NCAA rules are pretty heavy handed. Unless someone is shaving points or throwing games I can't really bring myself to care.

I talked to a former St Joes player last night. Apparently Greer had improper contact with Temple coaches while still at St. Joes and not yet in the portal. Source is pretty solid and I will not go into further detail.

So students can be paid millions of dollars, well beyond what the most tenured professors make. But students can't gamble.
Got it.
It's all about protecting the "integrity" of college sports....

Right. Athletes can’t bet on events that have nothing to do with them but if you’re watching the game at home please bet on which player will sneeze first in the 2nd half. It’s a mess of faux-integrity.

My daughter rowed for Duquesne, and for the 4 years she was on the team, she was prohibited, as an NCAA athlete, from filling out a March Madness bracket. Kind of ridiculous.

She can enter your family’s pool. She can’t fill out Yahoo’s contest. Only if no money is involved. If we do a $5 or $10 a head pool with extended family....it's technically a violation...which is absurd. Here's the exact NCAA verbiage: "Fantasy leagues, March Madness brackets, sports pools, online sports bets and sports parlay cards are all forms of sports wagering."
"If you put something at risk, such as an entry fee, for an opportunity to win something in return, you violate the NCAA sports wagering bylaws."
