I think the help D and the short bench is leading to success. We are playing a 7 man rotation and it is working. Sometimes subtraction leads to addition (think [team - Zack] in 2013 leads to more success).
On the floor the help D is promoting a unified sense of esprit de corpes. It's also helping guys be loose on O and (1) make threes and (2) more importantly drive into the paint where spacing is leading to open looks and good finishes.

Serious question here: have the referees been told not to call three seconds anymore? it is absolutely appalling how guys just literally camp out in the paint this season. Has 3 second call gone the way of the palming call?

I think it's been that way for 20 years. Jason Frazier used to camp out in the lane for Nova.

Archie loses by 23 to us.
Sean, Xavier, loses by 24 to Marquette.
I went to the Marquette-Xavier game after watching ours.

Did anyone notice on the broadcast that the USA announcers mentioned you get better quality ACC style refs when scheduling on Sunday. There was no "anticipatory calls against our Explorers the entire game" and the opposing team wasn't allowed to push us or take 3 steps in the lane like when A10 refs are officiating our home games. I would love to see us schedule all weekend games on Sundays if we didn't have the A10 officials who are even worse than the CAA officials.

Help defense continues to be strong. Biggest difference the last few games has been the defensive improvement. shutting down david green and jaden house was the key. the help defense on both was fantastic. in particular, the combination of shep, tunde and anwar really gave green problems and rokas blocked a couple of his shots. green killed us the first game. this time, he scored 6 of his 8 points after the game was already decided. |
