Joechopchop on the message boards, affectionately known to us in the pep band circle as "Tuba Joe" Ciaudelli passed away this morning at the age of 40. He had been a vocal supporter of the basketball team. He had battled cancer and other health ailments in recent years, but had been a regular fixture at games. He also was a regular protagonist in the Star Players, and enjoyed singing with his church. He spread joy among everyone he would meet, and was known by many. We will all miss his enthusiasm and his clever banter at the refs... "are YOU kiddin' me! Come onnnnnn! Get yer eyes checked, ref!"

Thanks for the write up hykos1045Joe and I overlapped time as students in the band. Most of my memories of the band as both student and alum, Joe was there. If we had a 5-person band over winter break, he was often one of those 5. Always enjoyed his enthusiasm and commentary. This one is a reminder of how precious and short (for some like Joe, far too short) life is. “OKAY, AL!”

I had the pleasure of knowing Joe. A true gentleman, never saw him without a smile on his face. Like all of us, Joe truly loved La Salle and always made it a better place. I spoke to him last season I believe on the elevator going up to the attic. Really really sad news. Joe will be missed.
