It’s going to be a challenging year for sure in conference, but our guys play with heart, and on any given night we can beat anyone. I am really proud of the effort, a road win is never easy. Great group of kids. Go Explorers

Rokas had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 or 4 blocks in one of his better games and was a big factor in our win. His hands can be shaky at times but our guards have to work harder at getting him the ball where he can catch it and use it. congrats to the team on a nice win, and to rokas on a good game. hopefully he can build on that going forward. i agree with everything on this post except our guards having to work harder on getting him the ball. they look for him a lot but too many times he either loses the ball or doesn't go after it aggressively which results in turnovers. and for some reason, those turnovers are almost always charged to whoever passed the ball instead of rokas. imo, the guards need to be selective when they pass it to him on the low post, keeping it to when he's single covered and he has the defender on his right shoulder so he can take it up with his left hand or dunk it. he rarely converts if he goes to his right hand.

I agree with diehard 100%. By analogy, the guards have frequently worked the ball to Zan, as well.
If I were a coach, I'd work on three things for starters with Rokas.
1) On the lob entry passes, there often are players nearby or in double team, so he needs to jump and high point the catch instead of staying cemented on the ground as he is prone to do.
2) After an entry pass, don't always back the defender; instead, pivot to face the basket in a triple threat position and then look for a lane cutter, shoot a midrange (after a ball fake) or ball fake and then drive
3) When getting an O rebound near the hoop, keep the ball high and immediately go up with force to the hoop. A bucket or shooting foul would then be a likely outcome. If you don't go up with force, you won't get the foul call.
Good skills, but needs to adapt to US play and be more aggressive around the hoop.
Will drop in a separate thread since the next game will make this thread somewhat irrelevant.
