We are quickly becoming one of the most difficult rosters to announce in college basketball. But I’m here for it. Hope kale got a pay increase.
Good work by Dunph at staff

I am extremely happy that another young man has decided to play basketball at LaSalle. However, it does make me wonder about two current roster players. Efe and Milos both seem to fill a need with respect to potentially playing the five spot and adding rebounding help, yet neither has even sniffed the court so far this season. I wonder, are they that bad, have they done something to get in Dunph's doghouse, are they still learning the system? Whatever the reason, I would like to see what these gentleman can bring to the court, good or bad, so we can really determine what we have.

Dunphy has a problem with young players using a scholarship and not playing.
Not only those 2 but Mercandino hasn’t seen the floor nor Ramos. That is concerning.
Thank God Dunphy is a good coach because lesser coaches would be devastated with that type of roster management.

I think they still have work to do to get comfortable in the system and for Dunph to trust them. Efe is very thin, I think he needs some more time to get stronger and develop from a physical standpoint. Milo’s averaged 6ppg and 12 minutes at JUCO. I don’t think a fair expectation was to come in and even match that. That being said, I’m not sure what the purpose was, maybe insurance, maybe there was something they liked. Or maybe it was a courtesy thing to get another player Milos is Serbian and I believe the pipeline at Hoosac of Tunde and now Stratos is a Serbian coach.

But playing 8 is how most good coaches coach. Sanchez-Ramos did have those two starts last year (which were admittedly confusing) but marrero looks to have gotten much better, especially on defense. And you need to remember we are only 3 games in. Once Dunph gets more comfortable he probably will start to spell guys a little more. But building the core groups confidence and cohesion in non conference is important.

I feel like we've historically had longer benches than the standard A-10 team and now we're consolidating it a bit. If you go through the rest of the conference to date we aren't really that different, maybe one 9th man getting 7 per and then some garbage time one-offs.

Really like these descriptions
Very good at positioning himself on both ends of the floor and getting involved in every rebound. He is strong, and likes contact. He has a high IQ, and is a pass first center who loves to make plays for his teammates.

It appears that all of the attributes mentioned for Killionttzis are things lacking with Jocious (positioning, strength, likes contact). I think the fact that Jocious played in Europe last Summer hurt his development. My guess is that there is little strength training, conditioning and skill development on those U20 teams. Dare I say that they play a softer brand of ball. If I were Dunphy I would insist that he stay here for the summer so that he can work on building some muscle. Let him and Killiontzis pound each other and for God's sake have someone teach the whole team how to post up. It drives me crazy that the only player with back to the basket moves willing to operate down low is Brickus, the smallest player out there. Shepard especially should be looking for opportunities to post up. I don't know if it has been mentioned but Dunphy gave a scholarship to Gardler who will join the other scholarships on the bench who never play.

Who said I had a problem with Gardler's scholarship? I think it's great when a coach rewards a walk on for his loyalty and contribution to the program. The only issue I might have is if Gardler is eligible for a COVID year and opts to return. Will Dunphy pull the scholarship? Currently all 13 scholarship players are eligible for next year. That means that at least 2 players have to go to make room for the 2 kids that have already committed.

In these situations it is generally understood that it is for the last year (semester).. Coach would not offer it otherwise…
I would not fret about next year and this scholly

Six degrees of separation ?
1. Hoosac School AAA level basketball team competes in the New England Prep School Athletic Council ( NEPSAC ) boys basketball league ; Efstratios Kalliontsis' current basketball coach is Aleks Miljenovic whom I believe hails from Serbia ; 2. Joe Mihalich Sr.'s son Matt Mihalich was formerly an Asst MBB coach at Hartford University ; 3. Matt Mihalich is currently, among other things, a ' Scholastic Showcase Coordinator ' for NEPSAC. 4. Turns out that everyone mentioned above knows Kevin Bacon.

If this season has taught us anything, we need shooters!!!! Additionally, hopefully Dunphy is put a structure in for offense. I appreciate the degree of latitude he gives the guys on offense but there is too much starball… We were really hard to watch for long bouts this season..

It's funny, I was reading the Hoosac School's write up on Kalliontzis right before I read this post and I noticed the write up on that guy you mentioned. He sounds like a dead-eye shooting guard and he has length. He can get his shot off multiple ways, so I don't care if he's not athletic. I'm thinking Cole Stefan who was here briefly, not very athletic, but man could he shoot the 3. That's what we need.

I think he grew an inch or two this season… put up some insane numbers versus on the best prep schools in the country this season… Alex could be a product of the NIL environment where the big schools love getting the older players and recruit up from low to mid majors… which leaves a hole for non-top 100 recruits Let’s see what Dunphy does here.. We know recruiting isn’t his speciality but the roster needs an uplift.. Going 7-8 players every game is just not sustainable strategy over the season…
