It will happen in some fashion… Bradberry, Slay, Cox, Graham & Kelce …will be leaving. (Kelce on his own accord)…you have to get younger and cheaper as you deal with Hurts no trade clause…. The 2 coordinators should be gone…what trades can be made to move up in the draft or get additional draft picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds? …If the GA alums don’t step up… we are looking at a .500 club at best next year…hope I am wrong. Last year was their year and they fell short. I didn’t answer your question and I don’t know the exact process. The 2 coordinators absolutely should be fired. That's not the only reason for the decline but it's a major reason for it. They also have no defensive backfield to speak of and they're short on linebackers as well. Cox and Graham are on the decline, so they need replacements for them. And whatever they do they should ABSOLUTELY NOT PROMOTE Matt Patricia!

City would burn down if they promoted Patricia. Did Sirianni lose the players? If so, he’s out the door.

I have been staying away for all the Eagles stories today in the Inky, on the internet, on TV and and WIP so I don't get seduced by the spirit of the moment. Sirianni is young. Did he pick the coordinators? How much is Howie to blame for what and how much? I have no clue but even when they were 10-1, they were often shaky. There was much more to it than they were “winning ugly."

He's like the grim hand of death wherever he goes. There has been some whispering that Sirianni has lost some of the players, but that's just unsubstantiated murmurs. I've read that there's also been some players grumbling about Hurts. Who really knows? But as glorydays stated, they've won ugly in several games and it's all come crashing down in December. The team is a train wreck. They'll be one and done in the playoffs. Hell, they might even lose to the Giants this weekend.

I'm usually not one for the "root for my team to lose" thing, until the very end of the year. I had friends rooting for the Giants to lose out since like late October, and I just can't bring myself to do it. But once you get to the last game, and it the difference between the 4th or 5th pick and the 8th or 9th pick, then I think it's more understandable. This is all by way of saying they better fucking not pick now as a time to start losing to the Giants after 26-7 over the last 33.

How dare the 2020-2021 Eagles sit their starters after halftime against the Giants tho They were playing Washington in that game, not the Giants. I never want players or coaches to try to lose. That's different than being a fan and saying "It's really better in the long term if they lose this game."

Right. But the Giants were angry. Forgot. Agree on the second point.

That was one ugly ass game yesterday. Just when you think they can't play any worse, they lose to the Gints in spectacular fashion. Right now, that team has zero pride. I've been watching the Eagles since the early 60's and although they've had some really abysmal teams, I don't remember ever seeing a total team collapse like this before. Please just lose to Tampa Bay next week and put us all out of our misery.

NY (area) teams really did a number on Philadelphia (area) teams, other than La Salle vs Fordham, huh?

Don't forget the Villanovknicks. I didn't forget them. The NBA and the NHL don't count until the end of the season. There's too many games. A couple of losses to the Knicks means nothing right now.

Well, it meant I got to laugh about Embiid being very super hobbled after his early turnover and then laugh again at the end where he was clearly stat-chasing and got his shit thrown back by Hartenstein.

The magnitude of the Eagles' collapse is being overstated due to their being the preseason pick to repeat the conference, let alone the division. I didn't have them repeating. Very few teams make it that far, and our returning players did not seem as special to me as the dynasty teams that make it to multiple super bowls. Not saying they lucked their way in last year, but the rest of the conference made improvements while Philly rested on its laurels, blaming the salary cap limitations (which EVERY team experiences) for lack of strategic improvements.

Pretty much even in points diff. If pythag works the same in football as baseball, they're actually a 9 win team masquerading as the best non-division winner.

Honestly there's still a somewhat plausible path for the Eagles getting back to at least the conference championship game. Tampa is not a good team. Even with the Eagles playing how they are, that game is no worse than a toss-up for them. If one of the lower seeds wins (any I think the Rams are beating Detroit), they'd avoid San Francisco in the Divisional Round. So a likely match-up with Dallas, who's had their own playoff problems (admittedly this is probably the best Cowboys team in at least 7 years, if not longer).
I don't see them winning 3 straight road playoff games and getting back to the Super Bowl, but fortunes sure can turn around quick this time of year.
(I hope I'm wrong about all of this).

You can't be serious. The magnitude of the Eagles collapse is absolutely NOT being overstated. And it has nothing to do with where they were picked and everything to do with losing 5 of their last 6 games, with 4 of those losses being blow outs, one of which was to a very bad Gints team. The team fell apart. Before that they had 3 straight wins against 3 good teams...and then they collapsed.

I know no one cares about the Flyers unless its like the 2nd round of the playoffs and they have a two game lead, but this is hilarious.

Yeah, it's almost as funny as the Mets and the Yankees spending hundreds of millions of dollars for the last several years and having jack shit to show for it. Or the many years of futility by the Rangers and Knicks until now. But sure, it's all hilarious.

You guys sound more devastated than when the Phillies just needed one to get back to the World Series and lost 2 in a row at home when up 3-2 against Arizona? That was the definitive low point for the past year, in my opinion.
It's such a waste of talent, though. To get shut out in the second halves of a postseason elimination game is downright pathetic. Johnson must go.

Johnson must go. My favorite sports are: 1 La Salle Men's Basketball 1A The Eagles 2 Everything else Philly I've never seen a complete collapse like this of a very talented team. Both Johnson (OC) and Desai (DC) need to go. They're both clearly in over their heads. Firing Matt Patricia is a no-brainer. Why those two were promoted and Patricia hired in the first place calls into question whether Sirianni is the right head coach. He certainly needs better help that's for sure. We'll see how Lurie reacts in the next few days. Regardless, the team needs an overhaul. A new center another OL, linebackers, defensive secondary...
