There's no team I'd rather beat than St. Joe's. Shove it up Martelli's you-know-what

SJ is the team to beat but Temple are the fans to hate because of the trolling and the pompousness and the new conference affiliation. I like SJ fans... they are classy, loyal and they have all been thru the ringer like us. And they secretly root for LaSalleMBB 364 days a year. The temple fans would never root for us, they despise us.

Just getting around to reading all this. I forget who drew the first charge on #21, I think it was Mills, but it happened right below where I was sitting and it was a huge flop. Might have eventually been a charge anyway, but the fall preceded the hard contact. (Which is fine, its a smart play when giving up 6", but that was a legit complaint by St. Joseph's of PA coach Martelli.)

Maybe Sam flopped, but Rohan Brown got flattened with a shoulder by Kanacevic.

Have you read their board lately.

Leaving the Palestra on Saturday an older SJU fan almost started an altercation with a friend who was just talking to us. This SJU fan decided to enter a private conversation by saying "...somebody needs to embarrass your team." and "..you deserve to be kicked out of the league along with Fordham." Looking at their messageboard, I'm not seeing a whole lot of love for the school, campus, G or the team. That said Temple is 1000x's worse. I know some La Salle fans are NOT going to the game simply because they are not comfortable with Security in the building. That's a shame.

A number of SJU (PA) fans appear to be pretty vicious on their hawk droppings board.

I could see maybe college kids getting into verbal fights etc at the game, but an older fan ? Odd. Sad.

I hope we play them again in Brooklyn and give them the beating they would've gotten without the bigs TOs early and that Duren goes 5/6 again so we can poop Martelli up once and for all. I bet Duren WOULD hit 5/6 if he's all alone, it's why he was 5/6 because his team couldn't close out on the perimeter and all they do is clog the lane and try to spike te ball and they call it defense By the way - my post should have read SHUT martelli up, damn you auto-correct!

A lot of Hawks' fans were very positive on La Salle up until the run up to this game. I suspect they can root for us as long they still have the "you're still small time and we're a real program" card to play. That's not an option anymore and having to face the fact that La Salle is better than them is more than they can take.

That's not an option anymore and having to face the fact that La Salle is better than them is more than they can take. The comments on their message board are pretty pathetic. Since we are better than their team this year, now the fans on their board have turned to insulting our school, complaining about so called flops (I wish they would actually watch the highlight on goexplorers.com that shows Halil charging over Brown), etc, etc. The insults of our school are especially classless and immature. Their program hasn't been any better than ours these last 5 seasons and that has them all frustrated. It's driving them crazy that we've beaten them 4 of the last 6 times out. It's driving them crazy that their team was the preseason #1 team in the A-10 and that same team has fallen flat on their face. It's now driving them crazy that we are having a better season than them. And it's driving them crazy that they don't have a guard on their roster better than Tyreek or Ramon. I'm glad we beat them this year and expect to beat them again the next time we play them, whether it's this season or next season. But we have more important things to worry about than their arrogant and classless fans - we have a huge game against Temple on Thursday and need to make sure we win games down the stretch in order to make the NCAA tournament this year.

Most Temple fans will never respect us.

The thing that surprised me the most was that no one in the media challenged Martelli's statement about Duren. Martelli said "He is not that good. He couldn't make 5 of 6 3-pointers if we went out on the court right now."
The follow-up should have been "So is your team that bad or is Duren REALLY that good? Which is it genius?"

He never said Duren was not that good. He COMPLIMENTED him that's why no one in the media challenged his statement. Look at the entire press conference clips on philahoops.com or goexplorers.com.

Martelli and Dunphy will both be out of college coaching within the next two to three seasons. This is only a guess but even if St. Joe's is solid next season (which they should be)Temple is in big trouble regardless if they get Jordan or not. Temple loses so so much after this season and the Joey's lose so so much the following season that both are in big trouble. Both schools need some kind of miracle finish in recruiting this season and next to pull themselves out of a serious funk. Speaking of recruiting if we don't do something this season (at least one more solid recruit) to join Stukes and two more next season we will be joining the Owls and Hawks the following season.

Hykos, you're way off on this one. St. Joe's fans are the biggest jackoffs in the city.
There are plenty of Temple fans who also root for La Salle. Prime example: ME.

2013/14 very bad year for Owls (recruiting to late to save next season) 2014/15 very bad year for Joey's (need somehow to pull off good recruiting class but it is very late) 2015/2016 very bad year for Explorer's (stiil have time but it is getting late)
