May be wrong but I would assume that Mamadou will now stay. One of them took his uniform number - 14 But it appears the other took Nickleberry's 10...May not mean anything

Per verbal commits the Drame brothers are coming to La Salle. The Pep Band is already practicing "There is Nothing Like a Drame."

I wouldn't worry about the uniform numbers. Its what the twins wore last year and I'm pretty sure the jerseys are photoshopped on.

How many years eligibility remaining for these guys? Just completed their junior years which means they have two years left (I believe, as the covid year didn't count).

Guessing we want them for their defense. But we also need offense. They averaged 7 and 6 points per game in the MAAC.
We need to replace: Moore - 12.9 ppg Clark - 12.0 ppg Brickus - 8.9 ppg Brantley - 8.0 ppg Ray - 5.0 ppg

Looking for these guys to finish at the rim and take threes. Shot 36.4% and 34.6% from 3, better than most of the "scorers" on Ash's team

Somebody will play point guard and it will be fine. Whomever decides to stay or leave...absolutely no emotions either way for me.

I had a post a while back about who in the portal could come in to replace him if he left; that was because all were in and we had no new coach at the time. I don't have any inside knowledge on his plans. I'd love Brantley to come back

Per verbal commits the Drame brothers are coming to La Salle. what a great surprise. when they delayed their decision to take another official visit, i didn't hold out much hope. welcome to la salle fousseyni and hassan. came across this a little while ago. intriguing prospect. never physically made it to seton hall, was stuck in canada due to visa issues which have apparently been resolved. hopefully the staff can get him in for a visit.

His career highs of 19 and 8 were against an "A10 program" in our game two seasons ago where he had outscored a combined Clark, Moore and Ray. And I don't want to overhype the new adds but surprised we're still nestled in a recruiting thread and not starting a new thread. These guys are going to have to contribute a lot for the next two years, and I'm grateful they're coming as well.

They are much different animals than say Jack Clark, our prior small forward. Still gotta get some shooters at the 1 and 2 spots and a big. Man, Moore with the Drame brothers would have been one heck of a low post defensive team.

So he would still be a freshmen, correct? i guess so. he's never played a d-1 game so he would probably have 4 years of eligibility. here's an interesting article from when he committed to seton hall two years ago. per the article, he was 20 years old then so he'd be 22 now. not sure if the ncaa has any age restrictions that would prevent him from using all 4 years if he wanted to. www.app.com/story/sports/college/2020/05/08/seton-hall-basketball-fills-out-roster-center-jeff-ngandu/3100719001/

Maybe not the flashiest but efficient and productive. Banks probably got the biggest bump of all the St Peters player with the run through the NCAA Tourney but the Drame brothers are the type of players you have on your roster that you win with.

Agreed really settles the 3/4 positions. They are much different animals than say Jack Clark, our prior small forward. Still gotta get some shooters at the 1 and 2 spots and a big. Man, Moore with the Drame brothers would have been one heck of a low post defensive team. the drame twins were outstanding pick-ups. based on the eye test, my guess is better than a lot of people realize. i would really love to know what the four la salle guys still in the portal are going to do. if none of them come back, dunph will need to add at least four more players from the portal or 2022 class just to be able to go five on five in practice. ideally, you want as many of the four portal guys and transfers in from the portal to make their decisions in the next two weeks so they can enroll for the first summer session and get to work with the coaching staff. the 2022 class is not as critical since they typically don't show up until the second session starts in late june. i know this is a marathon and not a sprint, but it would really help if dunph can put a competitive team on the floor in 2022-23. the kids coming back are tired of losing and i'm sure the twins are coming in with the expectations of helping la salle right out of the gate to surprise people like st peter's did. the fanbase needs it as well plus it would also help on the fundraising side. still very little info out there on who the staff is going after to fill these spots. other than ngandu, the only other guys la salle has been publicly connected with are the twins, ali dibba (from chicago state who signed with abilene christian), and dean noll (from cornell who signed with stony brook) from the portal and juco wing kalil camara. there are still a handful of 2022 kids available that were on ash's list so maybe they are still possibilities since four guys from his staff are still here. also hoping for an announcement about kyle griffin's replacement very soon. i'm just praying it isn't gallagher.

Understand the concern very legit. Still a very fluid situation the transfer market. I am disappointed that it seems Brickus is leaving. He regressed this past season but I wonder if that had to do with Ash, than him. I actually think Brickus is the type of player that would benefit from a type coach, Dunphy. Brickus has shown he can shoot from perimeter but for some reason never looked to shoot this past season.
If you have the open shot, shoot it. If have shown you can shoot north of 35% from 3-point land and have an open look (which implies a higher expected success rate), then it is more detrimental to team then when you don’t shoot it. Expected points go down, spacing gets hurt, etc.

I agree we need shooters but believe Nickleberry can improve his percentage with an offense that gets him a few more open looks. He had to work incredibly hard to get shots last year. I also have high hopes for Shepherd who is a plus athlete and hope he is working on his ball handling and shooting as I type this post. I think Gill can also improve his shooting. The combination of working on their form (thinking Matt Brady) and a better offense could help these three improve. That said, a couple more shooters are a must. Thrilled we got the Drame twins. Success can be contagious and their runs with their national team and St. Peter's makes them valuable additions.
