Blue Ribbon :
1. Saint Louis 2. VCU 3. St. Joe's 4. Temple 5. UMass 6. Butler 7. Dayton 8. La Salle 9. Richmond 10. Xavier 11. St. Bonaventure 12. Charlotte 13. Rhode Island 14. George Washington 15. Fordham 16. Duquesne
Everyone is underestimating La Salle, as we have said probably because of points lost (Pettis) and unknown under-the-radar gains. I am not going to be happy with an 8th place finish but I am not surprised with this pick considering there are some unknown factors right now, we have plenty of youth to develop especially in front with Zack and Wright, and it could be a close finish from 1st to 5th or from 5th to 10th, like a horserace finish it will be interesting match-ups for Brooklyn in March.

I can understand anyone picking us 3 through 8th. Personally I think we are a 6th or 7th place finisher. To get any higher we need big contributions from Zack, Davis, and Brown.
Given that Zack looked overmatched at times last year and Davis and Brown are both freshmen I just can't justify picking La Salle any higher than 6th.
If someone from that pack really surprises, then higher than 6th is possible.

Agreed. We have to be 10th or below for me to actually feel like they are disrespecting La Salle. Been a long time since we've had 2 good years in a row.

Those are all good teams in front of us and anything could happen. The one team in that list that I think we could be ahead of is Dayton. Everyone else we could be ahead of but it will be tougher. I think St. Bonaventure is being too heavily discounted as well. Nicholson was a great player, but they also played well as a team towards the end of the year. I could see them coming in around 7th or 8th.

It's a good league this year, enjoy it. Make some noise.

Let the Hawks and Billikens be the paper champions.
The Explorers need to play well in the OOC and beat Nova. Can we enter January with the Explorers having zero bad losses? To me that is the key.

Just letting everyone know to not underestimate the loss of Fatty Magoo at St. Louis. Before I'm criticized for that comment I've flown in the same row as him on a plane to Philly and it's not pleasant.
My feelings of him outside basketball aside he's clearly a phenomenal coach and no one out here has any idea how involved he'll be with the team, if at all. Could be a big hit to an up and coming SLU squad.

I hope we can finish better than eight. Other sources have us slotted 7th (Coaches & Media) and 6th by WH. I would like to at least match last season's A 10 record of 9 - 7 because the conference is much stronger and that record would give us a solid chance for another NIT berth. Winning ten conference games would be a terrific step to building the program's reputation.
