A lot of nothing was said IMO.
Same old story. Until some plans are made public it is hard to imagine anything will happen.

Kale said everyone is aware Gola is not the ideal situation. From Brother Mike on down know this. Something may happen temporary next season. I think most of us know this means turning the court to allow seats behind the basket. The problem with that means less capacity.
Kale pretty much said they need a big donor to step up just like they did for the rest of the facilities put up recently. Said everyone needs to help with donations.
G agreed Gola is a hinderance he must overcome in recruiting. He said all the right things as usual.
Kale confirmed business school comes first which we all knew.

Kale confirmed business school comes first which we all knew. This may, and probably should change with an NCAA bid. Have to capitalize on that kind of publicity. ~Joe Fedorowicz Philahoops.com

Unfortunately, this just confirms the incompetence of our Board of Trustees and by judging the newest trustees (per the most recent La Salle magazine) that doesn't seem to be changing too soon. The fact that the options were presented by Brother Mike, a couple years ago, to the board and they chose the B-school over the basketball program speaks volumes of their shortsightedness and lack of business IQ.

I agree a NCAA Tournament berth would create the buzz that could finally get the ball rolling. I'd love to know how much $$ the school makes off tickets to know if we were to rotate the court and reduce the capacity how much $$ we're actually talking about losing.

If any temporary solution increases the time it will take to get to a permanent solution by even 1 day, I'm not in favor of it. Flipping the court would be nice, but I don't think it would help enough to justify much money being spent.
It's not just "Oh, we don't have seats behind the basket." That's the most visible problem, but fixing that doesn't mean we are suddenly in good shape arena-wise.

The administration will pat themselves on the back and say "my what a great job we've done" and then we'll wait a good 7 to 10 years before there's movement on a new facility. Not building it mind you, just planning and some fundraising in that timeframe. We'll be lucky if we have a new arena within 10 years. I'm thinking it's 12 years away easy unless a major donor steps forth. Sad.
