One college basketball game on the show and it was Penn State.

Ingelsby and Hastings were annoying 50 years ago so I don’t expect much out of their offspring.

Watched every episode. To quote an earthy friend “Kate Winslet doesn’t look good naked anymore.”

More than one person *finally* understood what I’d meant about their accent because of this show. I don’t know if it’s because it’s passive but so many people didn’t really get it existed.

It should have been a Temple -La Salle game but I would have (barely) understood if they went with Villanova vs St Joes.

There weren't many NBA teams at the time (9-10) and the ABA hadn't really cranked up yet. Corace was a great all around EBL player. I think that team was equivalent to a G-League team today. Tom Hoover, Freddy Crawford, Maurice McHartley, Barney Cable.....

Any interviews with John Chaney in that book?

Thanks. I think I will order that. When the Warriors moved to San Francisco, Paul Arizin retired. He played for the Camden Bullets for a few years and as Jimmy Lynam would say he could "score the ball". I used to pay 50 cents for a seat behind the basket. I remember seeing Bob Love before he moved up to the NBA.

Not sure if any Chaney interviews, but I *think* that might be Jim Boeheim on the cover?
I'm thinking of picking up a copy myself
Can only imagine how good Arizin mustve been. Was still an all-NBA caliber player but just didn't want to move west with the Warriors, right? Guess he wasn;t able to maneuver his way to the Knicks to stay east, a la Gola.

Btw, did your avatar Hubie Marshall played in the Eastern League? Seems like he was almost certainly a skilled enough scorer for the NBA...

If you are talking about my avatar...it is the late Roland Taylor. For some reason, I don't remember seeing Hubie Marshall in the Eastern League. I am pretty sure I saw Isaiah King in the EBL in the late 1960's....

It is my understanding that Arizin just didn't want to relocate. I believe he had an off season job with IBM and turned that into a successful career after retirement. Arizin could still play when we was with the Camden Bullets. Of course, Gola was able to get traded to the Knicks and make a contribution for a couple more years.
Hey, I am talking about stuff that happened over 50 years ago, ignore me.

I got such an unexpected kick out of this series. I was induced to watch due to the local connection. The capturing of the local flavor was cool but I went on to enjoy this series because of the top notch acting performances, nicely paced plot and its surprising ability to make soap opera-like characters on steroids and content plausible and palatable. The plot mystery was also well orchestrated and offered surprises to the end for me. Favorite scene- Mare laughing her ass off at her mother on the car ride home from the wake after the widower of the deceased confessed (clearing his conscience) to all at the wake about his affair with Mare's mom. The announcement was funny but Mare's reaction was a topper.

That is funny. Wooder is the appropriate Delaware pronunciation, also. Like Sister Stella Immaculate said: Jesus walked across the Wooder.
