Folks, Hopefully everyone has seen the emails and social media posts that tomorrow, March 23rd, is the 8th Annual La Salle University Day of Giving. The members and fans of this message board have been great supporters of the giving days over the last few years, especially through the Jelly Bean Challenges (thank you Jelly Bean for your leadership). We are hoping that you will be supportive again this year. This past year has been one that has affected everybody. For our basketball student-athletes, it was a year that tested them, not only physically, but mentally as well. Hopefully, having gone through the ups and downs of this year will only make this young team stronger. To support our players and coaches, please go here: giveto.lasalle.edu/pages/home-page-2. Then go to the Explorer Athletics tile. When on that site, please fill out your payment, and then use the dropdown menu and click on Men’s Basketball. In previous years, this group was able to raise between $15,000 to $20,000. Hitting those numbers again this year would be fantastic. Should anyone have any questions, or issues, please contact me at 215-951-1543 or quinng@lasalle.edu or Kale Beers at 215-951-1545 or beers@lasalle.edu. Thank you for your passion and support. Brian Q.

Just sent in my donation. Did not see a Jellybean challenge listed. However, there are a number of match challenges available which will match a gift to athletics or any number of programs. Put your money where your mouth is and support the program.

I just made my donation. Rumor has it that Fastchuck still has his First Communion $. That makes his exhortation that much more impressive. Go Explorers!

I accepted the challenge @lasalleuniv #ExplorersGive. Proud to support the Explorer Club, in particular men’s basketball, and La Salle’s Day of Giving. Always grateful for the experience I had as a La Salle student, and the care and support of teachers and staff at the school

Great job by everyone who particiapted.

I will say this day every year always leaves me feeling optimistic and happy about our La Salle family.
Out of curiosity do other schools do this? Is there any comparison to a school our size like is our fundraising on this date comparable, above, below, I don't know, just curious.

Is there any comparison to a school our size like is our fundraising on this date comparable, above, below, I don't know, just curious. St. Joe's did theirs on St. Joseph day last week - raised about $414K on 5300 donations Duquesne did theirs in February - about $553K on 2200 donations Villanova did theirs in the fall - $5.98M raised (yes million) on almost 8000 donations Back in 2019 we did about $461K on about 2000 donations, so we almost doubled where we were in 2019 with about $935K right now on about 200 fewer donors.

Also reminder for those that gave - a lot of companies do matching gifts if you check with your HR or benefits department. Mine matches dollar for dollar, so essentially it doubled my donation with a few clicks on our intranet.

Folks,
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you to everyone for their fantastic support yesterday. The University had a great day, raising over $935,000 and counting. Athletics was a successful part of this effort with almost $180,000 raised from about 600 donors, and more is expected in the mail and matching gifts (thank you Glitter Bro #2 for mentioning that great program that so many companies have).

Donated yesterday. Now start on next year, shoot for 1.2 million and 2,000 donors.
