Google says he did a HS or post-grad year in Florida so I imagine that's the link.

Bonnies going for all the big guys whose names you can't pronounce They are going to be ridiculously good next year. By the way...this kid played at Harcum. We should be getting kids in our backyard.

I don’t think he’s going to be an A10 level player.

I don’t think he’s going to be an A10 level player. I think he is better than any big we have on the roster right now.

One thing that should be noted, John Ball (former Video Coordinator at La Salle) is an assistant coach there. He was at La Salle the same time that Sean Neal was here, that is probably the connection there.

I saw a tweet from someone who said any small school JUCO Mark Schmidt brings in I expect him to become all conference.
How true. Schmidt has a real knack for finding under-recruited players who fit his system.

I don’t think he’s going to be an A10 level player. just curious as to how you formed your opinion. have you seen him play? he was one of seven players averaging 10 ppg or more for a top 25 div 1 juco team that went 17-1. he led the team in rebounds and blocked shots while making 62% of his field goal attempts. st bona offered him a scholarship. like 88 said, schmidt has a knack for finding good juco talent. www.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2020-21/div1/teams/harcumcollege?view=lineupwww.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/rankings/DI/indexi think he's going to be an a10 level player, even without seeing him play.

I think the tweeter was saying it doesn't matter what level Schmidt finds his recruits.

Harcum had an average margin of victory of about 40. Despite playing over half the game, he averaged about 3.5 shots per game (roughly) despite grabbing more offensive rebounds than that. You could be right, but I'm curious about how you formed your opinion....having admittedly not seen him play.

You could be right, but I'm curious about how you formed your opinion....having admittedly not seen him play. i formed my opinion based on the a10 champion's coaching staff offering a scholarship and accepting a commitment from him. it's also pretty impressive that he averaged 10 pts (on only 3.5 shots), 10 rebounds and 4 blocks in 23 minutes per game. you never did answer my question though. nice deflection.

no deflection, I was pretty honest.
My opinion was based upon my looking at his stats. Yours is based upon him receiving a scholarship.

Good for David.. A lot of playing time in his last year of eligibility... Probably the right level for him in the Big South... His plus athleticism will always give him a chance...

X Johnson to Indiana. Lange swung for the fences but was left K’d at the plate.

X Johnson to Indiana. Lange swung for the fences but was left K’d at the plate. Everyone swings and misses. If you want better players like La Salle and St. Joe’s wants and needs you are going to miss more than hit on. Lange has gotten two players and they addressed their need for bigs. Ash hasn’t gotten anyone. We have to let it play out as this is very new territory for coaches. I think Lange has done fine this off-season so far. Remains to be seen if Ash can upgrade the talent here.

Love this phrasing that Lange has “gotten two players” like people wouldn’t lose their shit here if Howard brought in a 0.8/1.1 sophomore from a lower conference.

Billy Lange, who has won 11 games in two years, is doing a great job.

Much like the Vatican when they convene the College of Cardinals, Ash has his merry band of recruiters sequestered on the 2nd floor of Trumark. They are pouring over spreadsheets. Reviewing film. Modeling to see which possible transfers fit the system ( more on that in another thread) and mesh with the personalities on the team. We wait patiently for the white smoke to emerge from the 2nd floor of Trumark ( oh that might not be good idea). Maybe the white smoke from the roof ( oh another bad idea). I guess we have to wait till we get the tweet "it's a great day to be an explorer."
Trust the process.

Abstruse Transfers Dept. :
Pepperdine 6'-2' sophomore transfer SG Sedrick Altman ( Colony H.S. - Rialto, CA ) has committed to Rider. Perhaps enticed by the Rider campus / facilities ?

No. I think he just misinterpreted things. He thought it was "ride her". He'll soon transfer again when he finds out he was wrong.
