Sitting at 2-2 in the league, our next 6 game stretch is an interesting one:
@ Mason vs. Davidson vs. St. Joe's (of PA) @ Richmond vs. Rhode Island @ VCU
Would people be happy if we go 3-3 in that stretch and remain at .500 or is that not good enough? What about 2-4? Other than St. Joe's, those are all tough games.

For me Mason is a tell-all picture of where we are. That is a game an improving program should win. The same old La Salle program is a loss there.
Rhody and VCU overwhelm our thin front court and I think both those games will be frustrating to watch for La Salle fans.
Ash doesnβt fare well versus Richmond and I think they slice us up. Davidson is really how well they shoot the ball on the day we play them.
I canβt see anything better than 2-4. If we go 3-3 I would stand at the end of those three games and say we may be trending in the right direction.
Since Ash became coach everytime I expect us to take the step where we donβt go back we never take the step. I would like to see us take the step over the next 6 games.

Good point on Mason. My Spidey sense tells me we lose that and we go nuts, and then somehow beat Davidson because we always play them tough and they could have a bad shooting day..and we then get optimistic again.

I'll be satisfy with 3-3. Less than 3-3 is a disappointment. Hardly any home court advantage to speak of, so all games must feel like glorified scrimmages to the guys on the court. One of those "on any given day" seasons in the A10.

I have to believe we will be under dogs in five of those games. With that in mind, 1 and 5 would be realistic. My hope is we can go 2 and 4. Anything better than that would be unbelievable and a major sign that we have turned a corner.

If they go 3-3- I would consider that, a major PLUS!

@ Mason -- we win a nailbiter; big road win vs. Davidson -- suffocating D paves the way to a win vs. St. Joe's (of PA) -- way too close and uncomfortable all game, but a W; game delta - Jig has 3 steals for runouts @ Richmond -- frontcourt dominates us, UR backcourt is hot; long bus ride home vs. Rhode Island -- we contain Russell, Sheppard and Betrand but their frontcourt carries the day for an 8 pt loss @ VCU -- team makes a good first half showing but can't close out the 2H and we lose by 10
3-3

After the Dayton win I think I would have been looking to 3-3. Not now. When we do lose I hope we look more competitive than against Mass. Very discouraging.

As a somewhat quiet but very long-time fan who still remembers the 1968 32 point drubbing of the Hawks I've grown increasingly disappointed fan I think I'll settle for 1&5 with a win over St Joes and no more losses over 5 points I too had developed kind of a 2-4 as long as no blowouts standard but that ship sailed early. . . Yes I hope the coaching staff responds by bringing up everyone's game in time for the meeting with the Hawks, however it's health I'm primarily concerned with. Is everyone ok? The Wildcats are hungry for a win and will be dangerous in that respect. I hope our guys match their intensity and set the tone. I could care less about the next 4 games because one game at a time.

This team is hard to figure out. Looked really bad early, seemed to come around and then I thought the Dayton game would be a real momentum changer. Not the Dayton team of last year but even good LaSalle teams never won out there. Last two games have been scary bad. I would be thrilled with 3-3 but predict 2-4. Should beat the Hawks and I'll go with a a home win over Rhode Island. Don't bet on my predictions though!

Originally, I said 3-3 would be very nice- Now, I say 1-5 would actually be a moral victory for a 6 game span. Anytime they win, I will consider it a moral victory- not a basketball one- a moral one!π€π€π€π€π€πππππ

Looks like 0-6 if we lose to St.Joeβs- ummmmmπ€π€π€π€π€- A very sad , but probably not that surprising. ( if u have watched them play),sad state of affairs. What probably bothers me the most- is that their effort on the court, seems to be in question!

After witnessing the last two results, I really thought we could all just need to lower our expectations for the next six games by T minus 2. (Those whose expectations were already below 2-4, are to be exempted from this reclassification exercise.)
Obviously, the toughest stretch is Richmond and VCU still to come. First St Joe's, desperate for their own comeuppance, and with their own bad shit to process and talent to prove, will be a tougher outing than most of us including myself at two losses ago had perhaps hoped. St Joe's has the toughest oOC schedule in the A10, so they may be battle tested for our streaky shooting even if we catch lightning and score early and often. They will press us and test our fitness and it may just be up to who scores last or who gets the ball last. I am expecting not a barnburner but a 70-63 type game, win or loss.
I have occasionally heard some would be message board coaches postulate "When the shots are falling in practice, I cannot understand why games are different." That was even me at one time.
IMHO, games are different. That's it. That's the tweet.

Edit to add: I made it a 7 pts spread but that's only because of inevitable fouls at the end. We will be finding ourselves in a one possession game with the Hawks either way, mark it.

The Hawks played one hell of an OOC schedule. Battle of the dispirited fan bases here?

Line for today is Explorers -1.5. I thought we would be 4 or 5 pt favorites even with how we played the last few games.

A loss today would cap off one of worst couple of weeks in recent La Salle basketball history. Reason is not just the losses- Iβm more concerned with the lack of competitiveness + possibly effort! Very concerning!

We can't lose this game. The basketball gods won't allow it. Although....our Prez jumping ship to a Jesuit University could be an odd portent.

Sitting at 2-2 with 2 games in this 6 game stretch left. How do we match up with Rhode Island and VCU? Both of those teams..like us...have shown some inconsistency, with VCU being the more solid. Anyone thinking 4-2? Will we be disappointed with only 2-4?

Originally ,,I thought 3-3 would be great.- but after the way it started- to be honest- - I think 2-4 would be OK 3-3 would be classified as a large SUCCESS!
