I dont understand the spencer hate. He is what hes always been - a shooter. At times he forces it. But if open can knock them down. You need those guys.

Very happy with our effort—Gill, Clifton, especially. We shouldn’t hang our heads, covered the spread and I think the heart was there. As per usual we beat ourselves with poor passing, missed free throws as this game should have been closer. At the end of the day we played our asses off and Maryland had to take us seriously. Believe

Some stats 14-29 from 3pt range for us, Terps just 7-28 Terps ended up winning the rebounding battle by 1, 38-37 Assist to TO - 13-13 for us, 14-4 for the Terps. (wow, just 4 turnovers) Points off turnovers 16-6 in favor of the Terps and 44-14 points in the paints also in favor of the Terps Fouls, and I watching watching that close, were a seemingly outrageous 22-10

Kindly correct me if I'm wrong. But Ash NEEDS to call a time out when a run is happening against us and our offense is out of sync. I don't recall him calling a timeout when the game was basically decided in the last five minutes of the first half. Or in the 2nd half after we had finally cut it to eight points.

Scott Spencer is fine on Davidson where they can get him open shots. That is all he can do.
La Salle doesn’t have enough players that can break his man down. Anwar is exactly the type of player we lack. The best players can break their man down. Spencer is one dimensional and doesn’t fit our team at this given time. He will have good shooting nights and bad shooting nights but he can’t change the outcome of a game without teammates that can get him the only shot he can make.
He and others need to play far less. We are all Pretty much in agreement who are developing as our best players. Keep them on the floor.

Couple thoughts...
Ray is still posting the 3rd best metrics on the team. He's definitely got to improve on the offensive end but he does so many things right and it's clearly showing up. He's a glue guy and probably is more suited as the 6th guy but for right now, I don't know who has played as consistent.
Ash deserves a ton of credit. The rotation needed to become more centered and find an identity. He seems to be making good progress and having Jared, Hikim and Stone unavailable may have less complicated things for him. Gill, Brickus, Clark, Moore, Kenney and Ray is a solid core to have right now. I'm not sure what to make of Hikim. More importantly, they need to cut down the turnovers.
The officiating wasn't great but I feel like it was to be expected playing @ Maryland. I was just looking for them to put up a good fight and they did despite the officiating.
Also, Moore looked outstanding tonight.

That "oh, by the way" three was a killer for some folks, and made others some money.

That "oh, by the way" three was a killer for some folks, and made others some money. Agreed but if terps don't run that play the last 23 seconds of the game they would of covered. La salle responded with 7 seconds left and hit a 3.

Also seemed like the refs had a friend betting for them as they kept pushing the Terps ahead with phantom travel calls and touch fouls on us but allowed Maryland to go over the back on us including that monster dunk that wouldn't have counted with a fair officiating crew. Moore looked good for us.

I don't know how you can not be excited for our young guys. Maryland offense is a really good but they're getting away with a few travels. Because I was excited for the young guys last year. And here we are, they haven’t gotten an ounce better.

This was the first game that I watched intently from wire to wire. Saw enough good things that we can build on.
Still can’t get used to Maryland being in the Big 10.

I'm starting to think that this "friend betting" is more prevalent than we think. Lots of weird things happening at the end of games to cover/not cover. Especially in the NFL.

The referees were disgraceful We made too many mistakes but those guys never gave us a chance wiggins got away with multiple travels, many of them followed by him scoring. and funny how after jack clark catches fire early in the second half, they make a horrible call against him for his fourth and he has to come out allowing maryland to get separation. the team didn't quit, still lots to work on, but while i don't believe in moral victories, there was some solid play last night. need to stop with the slow starts. not sure what the issue with hikim is, but he should be getting some minutes. he could have helped last night.

Moore looked good for us. Let's start with there's no such rule as over the back. Scott's dunk was clean. Not a foul on him. He didn't push or hold. Secondly, I thought in the 1st half Maryland got away with shuffling the puppies way too much. That was my gripe. Refs right now are lacking feel - I am seeing too many drives whistled dead when an official is best served going held whistle as the offensive player has gotten by the defender. This happened last night. Yes, I thought Maryland got the benefit of some calls. But foul wise I don't think it was that bad. Maryland is stronger and more athletic and moved their feet better

I'm trying to get less annoyed with college basketball officials as I get older BUT I have to admit that 22-10 difference in foul situation did raise an eyebrow.
One thing amazes me. Last week Brickus gets called for an offensive foul by Ted Valentine for using his left arm to clear out. Yesterday, the 7-2 Maryland kid blocks Izay's shot with his right hand but clearly used the left to push off. Different set of eyes?
That was an awesome play by D. Scott.

I always through it was because G rarely bitched to refs. Ash doesn’t do it much either. I think it would help quite a bit to be like Jay Wright who argues every call that goes against Nova.
It can only help because we do get hosed a lot it seems.
